1. He's a pukeboy...well known as such
Also a recovering addict and very gifted comic/voice talent.

His "Sideshow Bob" is classic.

Sad that he's such a shit politically.

7. I prefer David Hyde Pierce
who plays Frasier's brother Niles. In my opinion, he makes the show.

12. Yeah....I love David Hyde Pierce
When he goes into his hyperventillation act, I nearly fall off the sofa

But I like Kelsey Grammar too. Too bad I don't agree with his politics.

4. Ick, all that cocaine has fried his decision making abilities....
Read a couple of interviews with him and he comes off as politically uninformed, willfully ignorant, and timidly subservient to any authority. Fuck this guy and fuck "Frazier." He hasn't been funny since "Cheers," anyway.

6. I work in the industry. There are lots of conservatives in it.
The idea that you have to be liberal to be in the entertainment industry is a false notion.

8. Ok, fellow DUers--we now have our "marching orders" for next week:
It's "Roast Frazier Week" at DU!:D

Everyone who lives in a broadcast market which has to endure Sarcastic Sean's radio show MUST attempt to call-in at least ONCE during the week and PUT IT TO KELSEY GRAMMAR! Give Frazier some of his own analysis--and prove he's ONE CRAZY WINGNUT!

Ask him why he can't be more "normal"--you know, like his dog!:eyes:

Ask him what woman "of age" would want to marry him...

Ask him if HE would be willing to go to Iraq and shout "Bring 'em on!" in the middle of downtown Tikrit...

Better yet, ask him if he would be willing to do that in downtown Seattle!:7

Remember...next week...ROAST FRAZIER!!! :kick:

B-)

<snip>
KELSEY GRAMMER'S life has been so full of turmoil that he could conceivably spend as much time seeing a shrink as he does playing one--and never run out of things to talk about. At twelve, his father was shot and killed by a man who was later found not guilty by reason of insanity; at thirteen, his beloved grandfather dropped dead; at twenty, his sister was abducted, raped and murdered; at twenty-five, his two half-brothers died in a scuba diving accident off St. Thomas. He was busted in 1988 for drunken driving and cocaine possession, then re-arrested and sentenced to thirty days in jail in 1990 when he failed to show up for two arraignments or at his court-ordered community service.

Women haven't provided much solace. After he accused his last wife of assault, she tried to kill herself with wine and Tylenol and, horribly, had a miscarriage instead; she then told all to Inside Edition. Yet another tabloid tale involved an underage baby-sitter whose parents threatened to charge him with statutory rape (he denies ever being alone with the girl). In September of 1996, Grammer flipped his sports car in another alcohol-related incident (he was formerly charged with driving with an expired license rather than for drunken driving). He escaped serious injury, but voluntarily admitted himself to the Betty Ford Center for treatment before returning to work on his hit series Frasier.

11. What a horrible story!!
Thanks for the details, I guess.

I feel kinda sorry for him--but won't some of this limit his chances for political office?

And even if you don't agree with his politics, you have to admire his fight to stay sober and his marvelous talent.

10. But, but, but ...
He's just an actor! What does an actor know about politics? What qualifies him to speak on the issues? What, just because he's from Hollyweird, we should listen to him? Those Hollywood elites just need to sit down and shut up. They don't know anything! <-- Doing my best imitation of a Freeper. Sorry, it's so weak. I can't seem to force myself to mangle the grammar and spelling. ;-)

18. Thanks!
I really need to make a new one. I was just too busy playing outside all summer between cycling, camping and gardening. :-)

I have a lot of protest shots I took that I haven't used in anything and I'm going DT for a Bush protest next week so I'll get more. Any suggestions for songs?

14. I don't care what his politics are
Denouncing him for his politics seems like something Freepers do.
I love him on Cheers, Frasier and especially the Simpsons as Sideshow Bob.
I could care less about his politics.

20. Trumad...
Repukes (or Republicans) are a political party. Some are pretty vicious and bad, I grant you that. Like Tom Delay.....I'd call him a piece of shit. But ALL republicans are not the same. Olympia Snow, for example....would you refer to her as a "piece of shit"?

We got furious when celebrities like jeanine Garafolo were pilliored as "unpatriotic" for opposing the war but you do the same thing when you describe a celebrity as a "piece of shit" just because he happens to be a Republican.

17. And all this time I thought DU was a political site.
I guess you think it's a show business site. But, you know, even if it were, this guy's politics is fair game when he expresses it to a national audience.

19. "Denouncing him for his politics seems like something Freepers do."
Criticizing a person for their politics is not limited to Freepers. It is our American Heritage. The more you support the right-wing fanatics, the more you help bring down America. I am practicing what our Fearless leader wants. Sacrifice. I am willing to sacrifice watching some fairly entertaining TV Shows so my money is not going to support my political enemies. I love America of old and would like it revived and that means not supporting right-wingers PERIOD.

21. At least no one is "boycotting" him
I don't have a problem with Kelsey Grammar, and I like his work. I can still watch his shows, his politics mean nothing to me. I must say most of the critcism of him here has been alot fairer than what you get over at Free Republic. No one has really come down visciously on him.

The Dixie Chicks were called fat and accused of Treason.

24. His objective is to obliterate the truth
Here's a quote from AP:

"I would like to try to rid the country of the idea that it's the rich against the poor," he said.
-----------------------
A more laudable goal would be to rid the country of the *reality* that it's the rich against the poor.

...of GOPukism...I think it is sad--I don't hate him, though.

I pity him, while still admiring his obvious talent.
