Freeper's can't figure out the SCOTUS rulling on the 10 Commandments
One of them has, a freeper called "E Rocc". He is what I would expect from a true conservative who favors minimal government.

Check it out here:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1431522/posts?q=1&&page=451

He notes that only TWO of the TEN commandments are illegal today and that, unlike most of the RW Chrishun nuts think, the TEN commandments were NOT a founding document of this country.

It's just another issue that has the true conserveratives seperated from the 'Chrishuns' and NeoCons. The repubs are falling apart more and more each day.

2. Technically speaking...3 of the 10 are law...
1. No murder.
2. No stealing.
3. No lying (bearing false witness)--which is only illegal if it is done under oath. Which, IMO, is why Bush agreed to testify before 9/11 commission, only if he could do it without taking the oath. Didn't want to be impeached for perjury.

5. Yeah, the lying is kinda like a "half" law
You can lie all you want. Just not under oath.

3. My world view is skewing...
Some of those guys are actually making sense, especially with regard to founding documents of the US, and intents of the Founding Fathers to -not- establish America as "Christian state". Spelling and grammar are better than usual, too.

Then again, I don't have a problem with many true conservative principles, just the neocons perversion of them.

4. It's hard for that light switch mentality
to comprehend a nuanced decision that reflected the fact that yes, there are shades of grey out there, that what would be completely inappropriate at the entrance to a court may be perfectly appropriate on a village green or in a store window, as long as alternative belief systems are also given the same access.

It drives them crazy when it isn't an all or nothing decision.
