Oil at $60.80 a barrel.
This has been your friendly neighorhood peak oil reminder. Be informed, be safe.

Keep in mind forecasters are predicting a shortfall in supply available to meet demand in the 4th quarter of THIS year.

Peace.

Olaf

1. How does this bail-out compare to Silverado?
Quite a bit bigger I suspect.

Same crowd, different project.

2. I usually put $20 worth of gas into my truck every 6 months
but I'm afraid the June 1 trip will last only until October.

Oh well.

3. Oil will never run out!
Well, that's what the administration has been saying.

I made a bet with a friend one year ago that oil would be closer to $60/bbl than it would be to $30/bbl. I would lose the bet if oil got down to $39.99/bbl or lower.

I won. Big deal.

Now the experts are saying we'll quickly arrive at $70/bbl and may see $200/bbl prices within two years.

I don't even want to bet on that, even if I'm the "winner."

6. Oil and other War Contractors. I've watched the state Jobs board
Edited on Mon Jun-27-05 02:39 PM by patrice
for Leavenworth, as in Fort Leavenworth, for more than 2 years now. Lots of contracts floating around, but not responses to queries from a fully qualified ex-teacher with technical skills. And yet dozens of contract with the Army jobs remain on that job-board for dozens of months.

More evidence of the effort to root war profiteers in the Middle Class jobs base.

7. BartCop predicted months ago that oil will hit $100 per barrel
And, so far as I know, BartCop has NEVER been wrong.

The pity is that all it would take for the gouging oil companies to retreat is just a little scrutiny from the press or our public officials. Unfortunately, all the GOP officials are in the pockets of the oil bidness, and all the Dem officials are too scared of their own shadows to say squat.
