Peer-to-peer companies such as Grokster and Morpheus parent StreamCast Networks can be sued and held legally liable for the copyright infringement of the people using their software, if the companies actively encourage that infringement.

Basicly, we're screwed. This can set back things if companies have their way. No more CD/DVD burners (sorry Linux fans but ISOs can't be burned), maybe no more PVR (personal video recorders) like TiVo and MythTV, and other items which could include iPod if RIAA had it's way. We advance technology and conservatives want to destroy it. Why do they hate American innovation?

Technology only moves forward. The RIAA and the like can drive P2P off-shore but they can't turn the clock back to 1985.

2. The broadcast flag business was coming back anyway... PVRs will be made

useless either way.
