Surely there are other ways to desecrate a flag without burning it.
Wet, freeze, and sledgehammer come to mind. Any other ideas?

(I am not endorsing desecration of our flag or anyone else's-- it just seems that if one avenue is closed. good ol' ingenuity will find another.)

2. You know, a flag can't be desecrated.
Definition of desecrate:

To violate the sacredness of; profane.

A flag isn't sacred, it isn't a holy object. Some worship it as a graven image, but it's a symbol.

3. There was a famous art piece once
that placed an American flag on the floor in front of a small picture, so you had to step on the flag to view the picture. Interesting experiment. I wonder if that would be desecration.

4. autograph
ala *.

Of course, I am sure you know the proposed amendment says nothing about burning flags.

It will allow congress to create a law barring desecration. Who knows how they will define that. It may even include flag clothing.

7. someone posted last week
the ways in which a flag should and should not be used or treated. i want to print up kind little notes and leave them on every vehicle i see with a tattered, discolored or misrepresented flag on it, including those magnet flag ribbons, telling the owners how much disrespect they are showing for "Old Glory".

remember when larry flint wore a flag as a diaper? that was about as low as it gets, but technically, all those stars and stripes clothing items, picnic table ware, etc. are just as bad.

16. How about a projected holograph of the U.S flag,
programmed to disintegrate as you are viewed it. Would that be classified as flag desecration?
