imperialistic
short sighted
misguided

On the other hand, while I was against the Iraq war, I do realize we cannot just walk out now.

Yer right, we can't just walk out. We need to drive and fly ourselves out. <grin>

What if we sent in the Peace Corps? We remove the Warriors and send in the Lawyers? Too bad this misadministration doesn't care about Peace as much as they do War.

Any Democrat who gives much support to this misadministration deserves to be called: Replaced

21. I'd like to see 500,000 sent to Iraq
troops? no...artisans, engineers, nurses, police, firemen...from all walks of life...to help the Iraqi people clean up OUR mess, and help them get to their OWN system of government, whatever they may choose.

22. You simply don't understand
what we are up against in Iraq. There are forces who WANT Iraq to remain in chaos. They do not want the people to be self-determining. They are the ones organizing suicide missions against our soldiers.
If we pull out the soldiers and install peaceful helpful civilians, they'd be rolled over by the next ruthless totalitarian cleric that comes along. Now that we are there, we have to fix the mess that has been created. And it isn't going to be easy.

23. I didnt say we should pull out the troops...I said we should send more...
people in.

I realize that factions within Iraq have problems with other factions. What we have to do is convince them to establish a government that will allow the various groups representation of their beliefs and values.

Yes, there are extremists in Iraq. There are extremists here in the US as well, but we keep the chaos to a noisy crawl. The people who want different choices will prevail when they get the actual support to install Democratic institutions. They won't get that from George Bush, and it's time for the Democrats to stand up and offer real alternatives.

29. Wow, a real Liberal idea, almost Radical
Sending in Peacekeepers and helpers!! What planet are you on Terwilliger? Don't you know we settle our differences here with weapons? The show of force is the only force we need. 'Course our history has proven that it is usually a miserable failure. Oh well. One of our favorite childhood chants is: "Hit 'em again, harder, harder". Does that help you understand us a little better?

Get out of the way and let the experts clean up the hazardous waste (literally and figuratively) that the Bushco children have made.

I cannot imagine any intelligent person still supporting this war at this point. It would be generous to describe the intelligence Bush used to justify this war as flawed and the postwar planning as poor. Ironically, the anti-war protestors predicted many of the problems that we are currently having in Iraq. Too bad that so many Americans refused to listen to them because dissent is "so unpatriotic." Hopefully, the American public will learn a valuable lesson from this nightmare: true patriots pay attention and are willing to question their government!

are going to be sooooooo blown off the electoral map in Nov. '04 you won't know what hit you. The anti-war group are a part of the Dem party; just like those who are supporters of various issues. If you think you are the be all and end all, then you can take a bow when the Dem Party gets flushed permanently down the royal crapper. When people come here and read stuff like that, they say "hey, maybe Bush isn't so bad after all".
