If something really is seriously wrong with dick,
that means Chimpy McCokespoon is going to be even MORE nervous than usual tomorrow night. Things like that (stuff simmering under the surface) always make his speaking even worse (I know that's hard to imagine, but true).

Hmm, this might be worth watching after all. The reasons are a bit morbid (but in my defense, I don't know what's wrong with dick), but true. I want to see if he's acting more squirrel-ey than usual. That will tell me something, especially if we still have heard nothing about dick.

1. I watch him, and yell at the TV
My kids think I've lost my mind (Wait, maybe I have!) I find comic relief in the delivery of the speeches of the Pretzeldent.

2. You can't be yelling, you have to watch every twitch,
every bit of shiftiness in his beady eyes and you'll see if he's more nervous than usual. He acts more......rat-like. That's the only way I can describe it. He also sweats like a mofo when he's really nervous.

8. Why watch?
I mean, someone needs to take one for the team and transcribe it, but why do something that would raise your blood pressure to dangerous levels?

Otherwise, you are fighting a battle uninformed.

24. I simply can't.
I rely on you guys and Jon Stewart to tell me the funny. I almost kicked the poor cat during the debates, I have no intention of wasting a perfectly good Tuesday night listening to this slack jawed yokel make a mockery out of my country.

34. He also makes a mockery out of the English Language
Where is that English-only amendment when we really need it? We could've used one to impeach the bastard -- he commits high crimes and misdemeanors against our native tongue each and every day. :banghead:

25. Probably sooner
as the White House (not just the current admistration) has always released the entire speech of the day to the media before the speech. It will just be a teleprompter speech anyways.

Yes, there can be some impromto changes, but Bush is not a good speaker (unlike Clinton) and cannot wing it or change it on the fly.

14. He doesn't have that effect on me anymore.
I don't know when it happened, but I just laugh a long, sad laugh nowdays. He's an evil little cretin and a murderer, but he doesn't raise my blood pressure anymore. I know someway, someday, he'll have to account for the innocent lives he's ended.

5. I used to yell at the TV whenever Lyndon Johnson or Nixon would
show up on the screen. In those days of black and white TV, the TV was unsparing in its cold hard look at the killers.I even think that all Presidential addresses should be done in black and white to heighten the evil of these men.

12. You might be able to adjust the color on your TV to achieve the
evil look you want. My TV is about ten years old & I can turn the color off. I hadn't thought of B&W, but think I'll watch it that way. Thanks!

3. Well, there are a lot of things wrong with Evil Dick,
Edited on Mon Jun-27-05 06:25 PM by ocelot
the least of which is his ticker. But I suppose it's possible he stood too close to a microwave oven or bulk degaussing equipment down there in his darkened, secret lair, and messed up his pacemaker. This might mean that KKKarl instead of Dick will be at the other end of the earpiece, since there's no way they can let the Chimperor handle this gig by himself.

6. No, seriously, you can.

I've looked at videotape of him since he was governor of Texas, and besides the fact that something has been going wrong with him mentally and/or neurologically for the past ten years, when he's super nervous, his eyes are even shiftier, he's stiffer than usual, he speaks even more slowly (hello? the debates?) and he blinks a lot. It's almost like at any moment, he could explode. Like a little pressure cooker. When he's more relaxed, you don't see those things as much. He does that snarky stupid dorky little hissy laugh and he doesn't blink like he just did an eight ball.

He also, like I said above, sweats enough to re-fill the Gulf of Mexico when he's super nervous.

22. plus the way he walks out to the lectern ...
A friend of mine went to see a physiotherapist's recently, who told her that stress can really influence the stiffness of a person's walk. Unprompted, he cited Bush as an example! To cap things off, he proceeded to strut across his office in the Bush manner (or should I say, a la Dubya). (My friend couldn't contain her laughter, because the impression was so good -- this is something that even many professional actors haven't been able to convey!)

Anyway, the physiotherapist thinks that Bush's posture and even his way of breathing are being strongly influenced by how tense he is these days.

I remember reading that Bush did get a "deep massage" from a Northwest guy who is reportedly really good, but Georgie leaped up halfway through because he was nervous -- the story is that he felt the masseur's elbow near his buttocks region and thought that he was being molested or something.

9. By the way, I really like you people here.
I'll be watching for extra twitchiness. However, he has gotten so bad, hard to tell if it is extra or just continuing. And, something is seriously wrong with dick. No if about it. I wonder if his body is also physically dead too, as well as morally dead.

15. I think I'm just really observant of those things anyway.
In everyone I see. Especially if I've observed them or known them for a while I can pick up on tiny differences in their demeanor/behavior pretty quickly. So I'm curious to see tomorrow night if he's acting more squirrel-ey, like something's up.

17. Painful, but I'm gonna watch.
I really think the little rat is starting to feel cornered;
a total meltdown is possible and I wanna see it!
(Or at least the few seconds
before the "Technical Difficulties" sign goes up)

All their deliberate flame-baiting
over the past week just smells
like DESPERATION to me;
Any tiny straw could break the camel's back right now.

His earpiece feed could go out, and leave him on his own...

A single well-placed HECKLE could bring on
a screaming psychotic tantrum...

Heck, someone could just turn on a microwave in the lounge backstage,
causing the Laura-Bot to RUN AMOK through the crowd!

Hey, I can DREAM, can't I?

31. I'll admit to doing the same.
I have to leave the room when he's on. I have a violent, physical reaction to his voice, his face. My PTSD kicks in and I am ready to take the 12 gauge to the TV set.

So I go in another room if it's a live thing and close my eyes and imagine him just about to wretch or crap his pants. it helps me, and hopefully the collective juju from all of us reaches him...

Fortunately, I don't have cable, so I am spared the visage of the Evil One on a regular basis. Kudos to you and others who can watch for the rest of us. :)

26. Isn't it just going to be a canned teleprompter word dump?
Or are they going to have some fake 'tough questions', like:
"Mr. Pretzledent: Just how is it that the sinful american people are fortunate enough to have you as their christian leader with unlimited wisdom?"

28. Yeah, it'll be teleprompter style (I can't imagine him
doing it otherwise) but there are differences in his behavior, pretty obvious ones, when he's feeling relaxed and when he's completely stressed-out. The stressed out stuff is fun to watch, I have to admit.

When he's relaxed, he does that horrible dorky hissing laugh where no one else is laughing but him and that is NOT pleasant to watch.

29. Ya know, it seems to me that the dorkiness metric
is really random with him. For instance, I watched a bit of his 'press conference' right before he started Bush's War. The one with all the fake tough questions? He wasn't as snarky as usual, and big doings were definitely up.

I know what you mean, though. Sometimes he's so freaking dorky with that wheezey laugh and sneer, that you just want to look around the room and ask anyone who would listen: "Who in the fuck really believes this sniveling dweeb is actually the president?"

But it seems random. Of course, during the debates it went off the chart, but it wasn't as choreographed as usual and his little monitor thingy on his back was acting up, so I dunno
