Question on new SCOTUS ruiling |
|
I read earlier today they ruiled about P2P sharing. I do understand the ruiling but here's my question. Is this just for groups like how Naspter was or does this go for any website that shares files? Does this mean DemBloggers won't be giving us anything off of the Daily Show or CSPAN anymore? Or Crooks and Liars? No more bit-torrent sites?

Bittorrent can still be used as with other P2P apps BUT as long as a company willingly gives away it's content or content is open source, it's legal. Otherwise, it is illegal. This maybe used to counter the old decision that allowed people to record stuff off TV with VCRs. TiVo etc might be illegal once corporations start to sue over this crap. It all depends on the next batch of law suits.

Thanks for that. What about the people who download from those sites with bit-torrents? A lot of people will be pissed if they can't record anymore. That's what I do. I love to video tape my favorite show's and movies and watch them later.
