There's a new Gallup Poll......from Iraq !
Edited on Wed Sep-24-03 11:35 AM by kentuck
Just reported on MSRNC. Sixty-seven percent (67%) are optimistic about the future of Iraq. And 45% thought Paul Bremer was doing a good job. A mere 27% of so thought the security forces were doing a good job protecting the country. They did not say whether or not they were "likely voters" since no one is permitted to vote yet. Also, they did not say if the poll was taken from Chalabi's forces? However, we can be assured that the Gallup pollster got a wide-ranging point of views as he probably went to every nook and corner in Baghdad to get his varied responses? Adds a new perspective to the polls we follow here everyday in America...

(edited to add word for clarification)

2. Of course they didn't ask
"Do you think the US should get the fuck out of your country?"

5. Good info on opinions of Iraqis who are willing to talk to collaborators

Just plain ordinary Iraqi citizens who don't mind answering a few questions from their neighbors who have decided to collaborate with the Crusaders.

Really insightful stuff.

6. If I were an Iraqi, I would be afraid to truthfully answer a poll
taken by occupiers who had 150,000 foreign troops on my soil, who censored Arab journalists from my country, who shoot up anything that moves, who shoot into demonstrations and kill protesters and who are stealing my natural resources. I would be inclined to answer the questions in a way that did not antagonize the pollsters.

This "poll" is pure propaganda and a filthy, cynical attempt to subvert American opinion on the disasterous occupation of a sovereign nation.

8. A recent Zogby poll commissioned by the American Enterprise Institute
painted a pretty rosy picture, too, though 50% still thought the American presence would do more harm than good.

It polled 600 people in four cities: Basra, Kirkuk, Mosel and one more I can't recall (definitely wasn't Baghdad, Fallujah or Tikrit). Basra, of course, is occupied by Brits, Kirkuk and Mosel are northern cities with large Kurdish populations, and the Kurds were the biggest local boosters of the war.

Well surprise, surprise: a poll commissioned by Washington's loudest tubthumpers for war, asking a disproportionate number of Kurds and not a single Baghdadi, finds Iraqis really do love the occupation!
