Or when Union troops were getting their butts kicked in battle after battle, month after month, in the early days of the Civil War (search).

Or in the many months after Pearl Harbor (search) was attacked and the Japanese were scoring one victory after another in the Pacific.

Nobody was lying to the public on how things were going. You could have walked to Manassas and seen the bodies. You could read the postings of Japanese on various islands.

The reasons why the country kept at those wars wasn't because it didn't know what was going on. It knew AND THOUGHT THAT SAVING THE US OR THE WORLD WAS WORTH THE COST.

Here, the Bushites have a war that wasn't worth a dozen american lives, much less 1700, a billion dollars much less a billion a week.

And Cavuto thinks the real problem is that we know what a failure it is.
