I could care less if Bill Clinton's hanging around Bush Sr.
I could care less what Bill's doing now a days... The dude gave most of his adult life to public service and if he wants to hang around another ex-prez...who gives a shit?

All I know is when Bill Clinton was president this country was 1000 times in better shape than it is now and the neo-cons were still buried in the sand.

He did his duty and he did a fine job job doing it.... Now leave him the fuck alone....

14. That's pretty interesting
Bill a preacher? Huh. I've never thought of that. And Hillary running the country? Hmm, well we would finally get national health care.... That's enough reason for me to vote for her. ;)

4. I happen to agree with you.
I also think (a bit more strongly now) that Bill might be doing this for strategy's sake.. 2008 is closer than we think..

5. I see no reason why he shouldn't hang out with Bush Sr.
There are only four living ex-Presidents, surely they'd like to compare notes.

21. LOL
I think people forget that although Bush Sr. was a greedy repuke asshole, his son Bush the Lesser is a whole new kind of crazy. I miss the old days when republicans were just greedy and stupid instead of greedy stupid and crazy!:smoke:

23. Thanks.
The "idea" isn't original with me. I believe I had seen it expressed in about the same words, here on DU a while back. But it wasn't far off the mark.

Take a look at http://antiwar.com/ for example, and check out all the columnists listed there. Many are rock-ribbed republicans of the Old School. Some are clearly "Greed-Heads" as we understand that term, But they all have CHARACTER and HONESTY. Accordingly, they are FED UP with that pompous strutting FRAUD, and are denouncing him in unmistakable terms.

16. The denial evident here is astonishing.
This is not a Democrat and Republican "talking" for the purposes of political discourse.

They are engaging in constant joint photo opportunities designed to show that this is one big happy regime.

The surface is what counts: It is Clinton who demonstrably assists Bush (who is the one in power via his son), not vice-versa. It is Bush's son who is running a fascist regime, and Clinton who is endorsing it uncritically. (This is the message of the photos; what Clinton says at other times is not relevant.)

If you're here, I bet all you people would agree Bush Jr. is president due to vote fraud, at least in 2000.

When Clinton appears on friendship tours with the Bushes, he is endorsing that vote fraud.

18. I agree with you by and large
Only an ex-president truly understands what another ex-president has experienced. Although Bush Sr is a criminal prick, he was legally elected his one term.

And I have been saying for weeks what I saw Bouncy Ball say earlier - it pisses off the repukes far more than most of us.

I am also tired of the hoary "But Clinton destroyed welfare!" crapola. Welfare was in serious need of an overhaul. It seems the far left is as reactionary and enamored of the status quo as the far right. REFORM is what the Democrats are supposed to be about, and Clinton did his job well in most respects in terms of reform. If the reform proves unworkable, we'll change it again. If we have the courage and means to do so.

For those who say he wasn't on the side of the working class: Wages rose over inflation for the first time in over 30 years. Home ownership for the middle class and working poor rose due to his balanced budgets calming the bond markets and keeping interest rates low (Greenspan knew what cues Clinton was sending), jobs were created en masse, the tech sector flourished, and peace was brought to Ireland. Bosnian genocide was quelled without quagmire. He admitted Rwanda was his greatest failure, but anyone with a passing knowledge of modern African history knows it was a lose-lose. Those tribes wouldn't have acquiesced to our presence there any more than the Iraqis do today. Somalia proved that in recent contrast to Rwanda.

"Best Republican president" my ass. Malloy is just another know-nothing radio goon - no better than a left-wing Limbaugh. Demagogic pablum for the reactionary left, serving the same function as his oxycontin-popping counterpart. Fuck him.

Although I disagree with NAFTA too, I believe his intentions were better than ascribed. History has proven protectionism is a failure, so the best route is probably somewhere in-between. It is worth the risk.

But some people aren't happy unless they're righteously indignant all the time, on the side of the angels. So what the fuck...

19. Hey, I love Bill as much as the next person
and I hate to see him bashed. Tony Snow was particularly ugly in his remarks tonight. I thought these Christians believed in repentance and redemption. According to Tony, Billy, is just a sick feeble old man who doesn't have the sense to know an unrepentant sinner when he has one speak at his last Crusade. According to, Tony Snow, Bill just pushed his way into the forefront and he couldn't politely tell The former Chief Executive to shove off, you're not worthy in God's eyes because, Tony Snow, big talkshow host on the radio, doesn't think you have begged forgiveness, been humiliated, and humbled enough before the world and the eyes of God to speak at at a Christian function. I'm so glad that, Tony Snow, is more pure than God and can sit in the seat of judgment of all mortal men. I bet he's real proud to insult a former president. And he speaks for all those Extreme Conservative Radical Christians, because he thinks just like them. Yeah, Bill, go ahead and hang, on out with 'em. Start listening to Rush Limbaugh if you want to know in what regard you are held!

24. The tsunami relief effort was a worthy cause...
but I have seen reports that not a whole lot of that money has gotten to the poor in those countries and not much reconstruction has taken place. That is real sad. Maybe Mr. Clinton could do something about that?

As for him hanging out with the Bush Clan, of course that is his business. When he states that shrub is a fine man I cringe though.
