Hearing on Iraq Reconstruction Projects |
|
Edited on Mon Jun-27-05 10:55 PM by jokerman93
I was just watching the hearing on Iraq Reconstruction Projects televised on C-SPAN2. As I watched in amazement at what I was seeing and hearing, I began to think about all that's transpired in the past few weeks.
When John Conyers announced that the basement hearing and the delivery of the signatures was just the beginning - I think I'm starting to notice some of what he might have been referring to. Courageous people are testifying to the details.
A line from an old rhyme: "For want of a nail the war was lost." comes to mind... Think about it. This is how you bring them down - you attack the foundation of their power - those corporations that have most benefited. You assemble the details and build a case. It occurred to me these hearings may be one front of the real struggle for our Constitution that is undoubtedly going on now in Washington. I could be wrong but I think we may be seeing the start of building the case that could finally take down the edifice and expose the truth about this war and this administration. I realized it can be done. And I believe it's being attempted - right now - by auditors and accountants and employees and ordinary people who've been burned in the crossfire of Bushco's power-plays.
I haven't felt this hopeful in some time.
Anyway, that's my response. BTW They're replaying it again after the current telecast about U.S. India Relations. That's why I posted this.
To all. Please take the time to watch it if you can.
:-)
edited for clarity - was a CSPAN announcement
