Incoming update; Iraq parliament member, 4 others killed by bomb
Edited on Tue Jun-28-05 01:39 AM by LynnTheDem
KERBALA, Iraq (Reuters) - A member of Iraq's parliament, three of his bodyguards and his son were killed by a car bomb attack on their convoy in the northern outskirts of Baghdad on Tuesday, police sources said.

Dhari Ali al-Fayadh, a member of the ruling Shi'ite-dominated political alliance, was the second member of Iraq's newly elected parliament to be assassinated since the Shi'ite- and Kurdish-led government took office two months ago.

Violence in Iraq has worsened dramatically since the government took office. Lamia Khadori, another parliamentarian, was gunned down at her home in April.

5. Thanks, Shraby. Usually my Monday nights aren't this busy.
My arm's about to fall off. Not that I can complain, considering what I'm searching for. :(

2. I wish I could take these updates w/ a grain of salt.....
but my open wounds are already filled w/ salt. Another grain seems as nothing. Am I becoming anesthetized to this debacle?

3. Good job. Lynn
It's so frustrating that the American public won't do this research or even look at the headlines. Notice how all the "ribbon magnets" are disappearing from the vehicles? They don't want to think about it anymore. Just close their eyes and wander on.

They are forgetting that neither the Iraqis or our troops can do that.

7. His visit and his really big mistake of saying he wants US troops to stay.
The very vast majority of Iraqis want US troops GONE.

Talabani lost any cred he had.

12. The RE-built ones that have already disintegrated and need re-rebuilding?
Those schools they re-built once already after bombing the fuck out of them?

(Iraq already had schools, Ft. Bragg. DUHHHH. If you hadn't BOMBED them they wouldn't have needed crappy jerry-re-building in the first place.)

11. The United States of America already lost this war.
If you believe otherwise, get your yellow ass to Iraq tomorrow!

To all republicans: ENLIST YOUR CHILDREN NOW! ... and get your sorry ass to Iraq too.
