Asking for Issa's resignation - How is the press treating him?
Hi everyone!

I don't watch much mainstream press, but this news that Darrell Issa has said that if one of the Republicans doesn't drop out of the Recall Election that he (Issa) will "reverse" his opinion and urge Californians to vote against the recall, just amazes me.

First of all, I can't believe anyone cares about what this guy thinks at all anymore. It's like whenever I hear "...according to a recent article by Judith Miller in the New York Times..." Does *anyone* believe a word she says? I don't get it.

*BUT* with this comment, Issa is admiting 100% with no reservations that this recall election IS NOT ABOUT GRAY DAVIS. He's saying that he forked over $1.5M of his own money (which will cost the state $80M or so), in order to rerun the 2002 Gubinatorial election!

Now, of course, we've known this to be true all along, but this is a complete, utter and BLATANT ADMISSION of it. How can this guy (Issa) be allowed to continue in his job. It's just rediculous!

So, I was wondering if maybe we should organize some sort of DU fax campaign to at least flood Issa's machine with messages about his dishonesty and request his resignation.

At the same time, I almost feel like writing a letter of appreciation to Tom McClintock for staying in the race, and I don't mean that in an "I'm glad he's there to split the vote" way. I actually believe in voting for who you believe is the best candidate for the job, and I think that McClintock has done a very good job of expressing his points (all of one that I UTTERLY disagree with) and being honest with Californians. I think if he were elected it would be a complete travesty for the State, but I do respect his fortitude for staying in and fighting the good fight (and he's doing very well too!).

Anyway, I'm just really ticked at this whole thing, but most of all I'm ticked at Issa, and I can't believe he has the audacity to keep his job after what he's done.
