I cant watch Bush tonight
My hate is too extreme. We basically know what he's going to say anyway. HOw things are going so well, how hospitals and schools are open, how 25 million people are now free...etc..etc..etc...

TOTAL BULLSHIT.. and simple, small-minded foresight on the effects this war will have on our future. But I predict, his approval rating will go up by 3 points and the approval for the Iraqi war will also climb.... Unfortunately most Americans are brain dead!

3. I feel the same way
My blood pressure skyrockets everytime I see his traitourous face on TV spouting lies.

I think I'll pass and catch the post speech coverage in places I KNOW will report it correctly.

15. I'll probably pass out within the first five minutes
At least I won't remember his attempt at a speech. Perhaps I just misunderestimate him.

7. I agree
However I believe in keeping your friends close but your enemies closer! I want to watch him lie, so that I can be prepared for what Repugs may try to throw my way on Wednesday in the lunch room at work.

I may not make it all the way through but I am going to give it a courageous Democratic effort! I am not expecting to hear anything new.

8. I hope somebody watches
and reports whether or not he does that "patting the invisible dog" thing. I need to know if the gesture starts and stops at the wrist.

Yes, it's important.

However, I'm unemployed and can't afford to replace a TV set if my foot goes through the screen.

12. Somebody please watch
I just can't. My heart may give out, and my already dwindling faith in the American people may decrease even more.

11. My prediction
since Rove has already started this...we will be asked to support the troops and the only way we can truly support the troops is to support Bush. Since Cheney is still spreading the "we were bombed by Iraq on 9-11" lies, Rove wants to continue the brainwashing with supporting Bush equals supporting the troops. And we can't win...we can't be strong...we can't be America...if we don't support our boys and girls.
It's all nationalistic rah-rah just to pump up Bush's plummeting numbers.
Bush was re-elected because our country has always returned a sitting president during wartime. And Bush reminded us, repeatedly, that he was "the war president".
And he was returned with the narrowest margin of any sitting president.
His intractability, substituting for leadership, is beginning to wear on middle America.
He has to glom on tightly to the troops in order to save himself.
With no thought of saving them.

By the time he's on, I'll be seeing two of him. :scared:

I've been watching the spin for this speech since Rove's remarks last week. Then, yesterday, I understood why he chose this day...it's the anniversary of Iraq's "sovereign government".

So, I'm guessing the theme he'll be pushing is the "freedom and democracy": "All Mrkns must support our brave men and women fighting in the heart of the beast to bring freedom and democracy to the people of Iraq. We've been through this struggle before. We know that the pursuit of happiness and freedom for all is hard work. Next week we will celebrate our own anniversary of Independance. As we gather with family and friends to remember our Victory over tyranny and oppression toward freedom and democracy, let us also remember those who died fighting for those values. And know the Iraqi people seek in their hearts those same goals. God Bless America and God bless you."
