Rocker Neil Young lends star power to Canada's Live 8 lineup
Neil Young is lending his star power to the Canadian edition of Live 8, organizers announced Tuesday.

The international icon will close Saturday's concert, one of nine bashes to pressure governments around the world to alleviate poverty in Africa. It will mark the legendary singer's return to the stage since he suffered a brain aneurysm in April. At the time, Toronto-born Young was forced to cancel a highly anticipated performance at the Juno Awards.

Live 8 Canada is being held at Park Place in Barrie, Ont., just north of Toronto.

Young's addition brings the number of acts to 20. Organizers hinted Wednesday one other performer could be added because the concert day, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., can accommodate 21 sets.
