So far, it looks like only ABC will go ahead and preempt their programming for Bush's speech -- anyone know if this has changed??
It would make me SO happy if they took a stand and told the Chimp White House to call them when there is real news. This is propaganda, pure and simple. It is not newsworthy in the slightest.
That said, is it too late to start an email or phone call campaign to encourage CBS, NBS, and FOX (I know) not to air it. In reality, I would bet that they would crush ABC if they run their normal shows.

1. I think it's better if they air it. |

Something interesting has happened. People are starting to cotton on to the fact that Bush is out of touch. That's a good thing, and now that it's started, every time Bush gets in front of a camera and makes one of his idiotic speeches, more people will catch on.
I'd like to see Bush, Rove and Rumsfeld on camera as often as possible, because suddenly it's not doing them any favors, and they haven't realized it yet.

4. I agree, let him stick his foot in his mouth. |

People used to just ignore it, but they're starting to notice it more and more.
I love it when he shows his idiotcy on national TV!

That's actually a good point. |

Now I'm torn. I still want to see the media start to grow a spine, but you're absolutely right that Bush doesn't do himself an favors when he's on the camera.

You never know when he'll ab-lib something that makes Hughes and Rove cringe and crank up the "damage control" machine.
Allowing Buxh to speak live is a sign of desperation
Today's speech is tomorrow's refrigerator magnet.

Now that was a few days ago, so maybe they have changed their mind on it.

that he has to go to Ft. Bragg to use it as a prop but the hesitation by these networks is because not having at the WH doesn't make it newsworthy. Don't cha love it? This guy is a L.O.S.E.R!

I always think its a great piece of stand up comedy. I usually get some beers for it and laugh. Plus he has to start talking and defending himself, should be good!
