Did BushCo blackmail Blair into Iraq War?
After all the DSM evidence that showed Blair receiving unanimous negative appraisals for an Iraq war, why did he ignore all this advice from his most trusted advisors and go to war with the US anyway? Seems likely to me that BushCo has the goods on Blair and was ready to destroy him if he didn't play poodle dog to Bush.

1. Do you have any evidence of this accusation?
Just out of curiousity?

2. I wish I did. Believe me, I would have gone public with that straight
away. No, I am just speculating here. It just doesn't seem to fit that Blair became a part of this horrible mess. He's too smart. I've respected him quite a bit over the years and this seems so out of character. Bush, I can understand. He is a fucking idiot surrounded by idiots. But Blair, I don't know, something's fishy there.

Probably. I think I read he got some military equipment that Britian has been wanting for the past few years.

5. I doubt that.
I think that we are so closely tied in a myriad of ways that to turn down the U.S. president was unthinkable, particularly one as pissy and vengeful as this one. Everyone who has every crossed him has had something extremely nasty happen shortly thereafter. Korea and Japan are getting fucked over in trade agreements, as is Canada. Poodle knew he had to do whatever Smirk said, and he was looking for a way to do it without actually breaking the law, something Smirk doesn't even think about.

7. What you're saying is that the Bush family runs the world.
Then it's inevitable that Jeb will become president in 2009. Lord have mercy on us!

9. A deal between Thatcher and Reagan over some nuke treaty?
"The secret agreement was designed by Thatcher to secretly tie the hands of British Prime Ministers for many years to come."

Here's one link I just found: http://www.atsnn.com/story/138992.html

(scroll it down a bit)

"Dear Mr. Keys,

All the discussion on the Iraq war is essentially a diversion. There is a secret clause in the Trident submarine treaty that was signed by Mrs Thatcher in 1983."
