Holiday Gas Price Spike
Has anyone noticed a pre holiday gas spike in there local area as of yet. Gas jumped 17 cents a gallon here from last night to this morning? And what is really odd also that if you travel within different areas of the city. There are major prices differences around 12-26 cents per gallon within the city

2. Yes
Price collusion is a bitch to prove though. The Justice Department hasn't really enforced anti-trust regulations in a long time, so there is now an air of impunity when this is done.

3. Just in time for the 4th. Price gouging and fixing - patriotism at work.
Reminds us of the American freedoms for which we fight.

4. I usually fill up the first of the month
this, month I still have an almost full tank, and while it's wishful think I'm going to wait as long as I can to see if the spike will level out.

5. I returned a rental car after a half day...
just a quick run to Ikea and Whole Foods (in Baltimore).

I used 1/4 of a tank of gas. I filled it up before returning it (They charge a fortune if they have to fill it up), and it cost $16.73!

This was some kind of regular Dodge or Mercury compact car, too.

Outrageous for 1/4 tank!

8. Yeah, its up over 20 cents here....
Last wednesday it was 1.89 for a gal, the past weekend it was 1.96, and on Monday 2.13....so, yeah, i have noticed, its such a pain in the ass. Do you people realize, that my gasoline bill is now my second highest bill, the only thing higher is our mortage, our next highest bill is gasoline, and people say, it don't effect them? Crap, it doens't effect the people who can afford it, and have the money to deal with it. If you are barely making it by, hoping/praying nothing happens, or breaks down in your house/car, the price of gas can be crippling...damn, anything over 1.90 is damn crippling but of course, its the good ole USA, the corporate war hounds are in office, and their faithful followers will follow them, but just how long will they follow them, when things start hitting them hard in their wallets?

I wish people would wake up to this facade in the WH, gas is a common bond that we all share/have. We all use it, well not all, but a high majority do...it makes me wish i could i get a horse and buy hay, and drive to work on a horse, but damn, the job is 45 miles away, it would take a horse about two-three days to make it, hence my ideas on how to get aroudn high gas prices are pretty damn slim...

10. Yeah, it's up about $.10/gal at my usual station since about 2 weeks ago.
I just filled up, it's $2.14 today. Last time it was about $2.04 or .05 (can't remember exactly).

I don't know if this is a "spike", it just seems to keep going up and up.
