Recite after me--it's not the sinner but the sin that we abhor.

Seriously, if Bush suddenly realized how arrogant and stupid and destructive he has been, asked for forgiveness, and promised to mend his ways, I would forgive him in a heartbeat. That fast. No looking back.

It's what he does, not who he is, that is frightening and dangerous. To pretend that his policies are OK, right, justified, or in any way acceptable is not to be loving, or Christian, or tolerant. It's called ENNABLING.

OTOH, their Clinton-bashing WAS hatred. Clinton did acknowledge his bad behavior, asked for forgiveness, and promised to try to do better. They just laughed (!!!) at him, called him a phony, and continued to make shit up about him.

1. Politics and Religion
Their Christian character was as shallow and hateful as their political ideology.

All of them are Republicans first and Christians second, though they like to think it's the other way around.

Bigots and hypocrites like the Clinton-haters who now moonlight as Bush apologists have a special place in Hell waiting for them.

2. While I am probably not as generous of spirit...
it is malarkey. Bush has demonstrably messed-up everything. Blaming the so-called "liberal media" won't work anymore because the faulty party is as evident as the true bias of corporate media. How can Bush be the victim/underdog (especially with $200 million in his campaign coffers)? How can his partisans avoid addressing his failures? By complaining that criticism is hateful, suggesting that it is unpatriotic, and hinting that it could get you in trouble.
