The tide, it is a'turning....:)
I got a warm and fuzzy feeling today about our country for the first time in a long time. There are people who get what we're saying, they're there, even at the highest levels of our government. They are doing what they can, but more importantly, the public is becoming aware. More and more, positive, change-oriented discussion is happening. Nationally, regionally , and locally. On the major news outlets and at the local diner. It is happening. We need to make sure we nudge it along. Feed it the air it needs to breathe, let it grow. The tide is moving back in and you will see it in GWB desperation tonight. I'm looking forward to it...

1. Okay, I feel it too
but what do we do with it? We have to get this President on trial for war crimes, and we have to do it fast! Iran is next. No more people should have to die!!!!!!!!

18. "SUMMER OF PROTEST" - New Blog and Weekly Protests at Media Outlets in LA!
From my new blog, http://summerofprotest.blogspot.com/

Attention citizens of the Los Angeles:

Our SUMMER OF PROTEST is here. We will continue to set the standard for protesting against the Bush administration's lies, illegal wars, torture, and war profiteering.

Every Saturday afternoon at 3:00, throughout the summer and possibly beyond, we will be protesting outside of media outlets. Since the news refuses to inform the public, the public will start informing the news that we won't allow the coverups to continue. We will SHAME them into covering our protests and expose them for not covering the real issues!

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD AND COME OUT TO THE WEEKLY PROTESTS.

We made major progress with our After Downing Street Rally at KTLA & KCBS this month, even getting our rally covered the same night on the KTLA Primetime News and getting a KCBS newsvan out to interview us. We will kick off our SUMMER OF PROTEST at KTLA & KCBS again this Saturday, July 2nd and keep this location throughout the month of July. In August, we will be targetting CNN News, also on Sunset.

KTLA News (3:00-4:00)
5800 Sunset Boulevard (Sunset and North Van Ness Blvd)
Los Angeles, CA 90028
(Just off the 101 at Sunset)

KCBS News (4:00-5:30)
6121 W Sunset Blvd (Sunset and North Gower Street)
Los Angeles, CA 90028

"he sounds just like a damn crooked, used car salesman."

(No offense to previously owned vehicle representatives.)

3. Let me be the first to say: Bush is about to be swept away in a
POLITICAL TSUNAMI caused by his eternal hubris and ignorance of the will of the "little people" he so despises.

13. Beat you to it
On June 7, in thread http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x1835968 I said, "Chimp/Cheney will not finish their term in office. They'll be gone before the 2006 elections, and there's a fair chance they'll be gone before the end of 2005." Along with a bunch of other follow-on "daring, wild-ass predictions."

21. My father is 68; and he has been saying all along that....
B*sh won't last in office thru '06. Don't know if the old man is right, but damn I hope so. Getting stuck with Cheney, OMG. Hopefully, the stress would over tax his ticker.

B*shCo. needs to be held accountable; and not just on judgement day either. Amazing how much damage can be done in a short time.

22. I think, and hope, that your father is very perceptive
Things have definitely changed in the last month. A month ago, only the very fringe would even speak the I-word, and then only as wistful thinking. Now several significant, if not major, newspapers have addressed the issue. The mood on DU has changed from wondering when they will come to drag us off to re-education camps, and now we're clearly on the offensive.

coast, who aren't in his incestuous little inner circle.

4. The "W" stickers are being taken off cars around here...
conservative North Houston suburb. I few cars in my office parking lot had W stickers for the longest time after the election.

Little by little, the owners are ripping them off. Not too proud you voted for that little sh*t, are you?

Anybody else notice this?

8. I noticed that also
I haven't seen as many W stickers here in San Diego. At first I thought it was because the election was almost nine months ago. I think the tides are slowly turning my friends. :)

10. Has nothing to do with the election being over 7 months ago...
there were still stickers from the 2000 election all over the place until they got their new ones for 2004.

Even "Don't Blame Me, I Voted for Bush" stickers still stuck on.

Woo Hoo!

15. Yes, about 2 weeks ago I was sitting in traffic, and it hit me
All the RW bumper stickers and window stickers are gone. ALL of them.

I haven't seen a single one since I started looking for them 2 weeks ago, and I live in one of the most conjested areas on the West Coast.

20. Odd
I rarely see W stickers anymore. Hell, even fundies are mad over free trade costing them and their kids jobs and a good future. We might be able to bring the American Dream back to life.

6. It's definitely turning
And the recent actions of the administration show that they are getting desperate. If they get too desperate, they have proven that they will stop at nothing. We have to all hit hard while they're spinning round in circles before gaining their composure.

9. i thought about the tide when...
Rummy was consulting a dictionary regarding the word "throes" the back-peddling is amusing... and the true fact was that we didn't concur with the word "last" not "throes"

Basically they are trying to put logic into their arguments.... but thats a Democrat thing... they are now talking on our terms...

14. I agree, and what has me excited is...
...how little momentum the freepers have, compared to how much we have.

I mean, can you imagine being a freeper, and having to write a paragraph like the one you posted, for the purpose of encouraging other freepers?

Having to write "we need to make sure we nudge it along" for other freepers ... what does the right have to nudge? They attacked us on 9/11, stay the course, it's hard work, liberals are soft on terror, blah blah blah.

It's tired. They're tired. They need to rest.

16. Yep...
Somehow I'm starting to feel like on on the side that's going to win. And I like that. Because if my side wins, this country wins. We will become stronger because of this, just like at every time in our history when imperialistic bastards tried to shove their agenda down Uncle Sam's throat. The Federalists, the Spanish-American War, railroad tycoons, the 30's elite, Germany/Japan, we will survive.

Thread title: "As of today, after 25 years, I am no longer a Republican."

We have a long way to go and much work to do, but now we can see it ISN'T a hopeless struggle.

23. Guy sitting next to me in the plane yesterday was LOUDLY angry
Really surprised me. He was in his mid 50's, an engineer type from Iowa. When he asked me what I thought about current events, I figured he was a staunch Repub. Next thing I know, he's ranting very loudly about how much he hates Bush and that he's starting to believe in MIHOP. Wow was I surprised. he got the whole plane looking at us! And then he burst out with: "Howard Dean was right!"

Moral of the story: you can't tell a Repub from a Dem these days!
