Will Time Inc Hand Over Document That Keeps Cooper Out of Jail ?
Edited on Tue Jun-28-05 04:55 PM by KC21304
From Editor and Publisher

NEW YORK When Matthew Cooper of Time magazine and Judith Miller of The New York Times return late Wednesday afternoon to face the federal judge who ordered them to jail last fall for refusing to reveal confidential sources, two different outcomes may emerge.

While New York Times officials have maintained that Miller will not reveal the source who leaked to her the identity of CIA agent Valerie Plame, a source close to Time Inc. told E&P that the company is considering handing over documents that would reveal the source.

Cooper declined to comment.

Ted Olson, the lead attorney for Time, would not confirm or deny that report, saying "decisions have not been made in terms of what Time will do if the judge reaffirms the order. Both Time and Matt Cooper are reserving judgment on what they will do. There is no point in making a decision before it is necessary."

Asked if Time Inc. was considering revealing the source, via documents, Dawn Bridges, senior VP for communications, declined comment.

Judith Miller go to jail. I wonder if Chalabi would come to see her.

Matt and Mandy Gruenwald have a 6 yr old son so that would be tough if he had to go to jail.

2. Ted Olson is representing Time/Matt Cooper?
That is an interesting situation. Guess Ted already knows who and what info Cooper had/has and is concealing.

3. Yes.
Olson came in on the appeals. Abrams has the knowledge about the constitutional issues, and Olson is part of the administration's silent partners. I think the administration was unhappily surprised the Supreme Court didn't rescue them.

5. Is he still Solicitor General of the U.S.?????????
Man, sure seems to me there ought to be SOME reason he wouldn't be allowed to represent anyone connected with this.
