Hmmm, I believe there is a good argument to be made that this WH has NOT supported the troops in many ways. Maybe we can bring that into the discussion when they try to sell this BS.

The president is unpopular, while the "troops" (faceless as they are, sadly) are widely popular.

Bush is hoping to ride their coattails.
