Blair is 'unfit and drinking'

LONDON: Lifestyle guru Carole Caplin has spoken candidly about her friendship with Tony and Cherie Blair to an undercover newspaper reporter posing as a wealthy sheik looking to set up a business deal.


In talks with the reporter, she said the health of Tony Blair was in "dire straits" after his weight gain.

The News of the World reported that Ms Caplin claimed she persuaded the prime minister to back her campaign to stop the EU banning the sale of vitamin supplements.


Ms Caplin was Cherie Blair's fitness and fashion adviser before becoming embroiled in the "Cheriegate scandal" with her then lover Australian conman Peter Foster.
