The 1,744 Casualties
are only US casualties in Iraq since the "official" start of the invasion. Accoring to icasualties, the total for coalition forces is 1,932.

What about casualties in Afghanistan, and other theaters in the War on Terra (such as the "pre-invasion" totals for Iraq)? What is the evidence that the casualty numbers are far, far higher and are being supressed?

1. I don't know
What is the evidence that the casualty numbers are far, far higher and are being surpressed? I mean, other than Idle Speculation?

3. Not this crap again.
Do yourself and the rest of us a favor. Search GD and you will find a thread about a page back that explains why this meme is CRAP.

They are not far, far higher.

I can't find the thread right now, but there is one here where someone gives a very detailed analysis of how the numbers cannot be very different than what icaualties reports and why.

I just can't believe people haven't seen the refutations before.

Sorry to offend. I'll post a link to the thread if i can find it..

8. I actually wasn't meaning to haul that out again
(about the controversy over casualty numbers), I was just interested in a quick number of total US dead in foreign misadventures since 9-11. Sorry to open a can that shouldn't be opened.

9. Okay.
It's not that the Pentagon doesn't try to suppress casualty numbers, but it would be irrational to believe they could get away with covering up hundreds of dead soldiers. Check out that link I posted.
