"I'm so glad what he said what he said in praise of the men and women of the military and their families. Glad to see him call on others to join the armed services.
In as far as the rest of the speech is concerned said some things that had to be said. We can't afford to fail. There was some questions he didn't resolve. Didn't come to grips with the dichotomy that Cheney said the insurgency is in its last throes or why there are car bombs every other day or why the insurgency is continuing. These issues will resurface.
This was an elective war. We didn't have to fight this war. Saddam wasn't part of 9/11. Saddam didn't have the WMD to fight America. But now that we're there, we have to succeed."

"Is a great recruiting tool for the terrorists. I'm all in favor of everything we're doing to get rid of the terrorist, but I'm worried that we're creating more terrorists. They're taking things they've learned from us in battle there and taking it back out.
How should we have defeated terrorism most effectively? I fully supported the war in Afghanistan. We should have gotten rid of Osama bin Laden.
(The terrorists) are learning from us.
We are creating enemies."

What I hope for is that the president and this administration will give the American people the information they need - give them the benchmarks we need.
Level with the American people.
Can't do it with military alone.
Have to work with our friends and allies.

16. We've got to get out the right way. |
|
This is the sort of dilemma we're in.
We must succeed, but with the objectives that we've been given there, we're creating more enemies.

19. Yeah... but if he's trying to pick up disgruntled Repubs |
|
and Indies to make them understand what a mess we have over there, you can't be too critical of Bush.
I have to do that all the time where I live, so I understand. A little sugar brings you lots of bees.

20. He's got to educated the mindless numbskulls first..... |
|
which he did. He praised the troups and what Bush said ABOUT the troups...but then stated that Bush really didn't answer the most important questions......WTF is things getting worse in Iraq, and therefore the criticism of Bush's handling of Iraq will not go away.
He said something very important....this was a War that Bush decided to fight. It was an elective war. It didn't have to be fought....Fox people don't know that shit.
Then he said that Saddam HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH 9/11....and we know how important it is for the fools to know that too.
So all in all, I think...considering the venue, he achieved his objective....
The Platitude for the troups were required....and should have been given. Can't criticize Bush for giving recognition to our fighting men and women, now can we?

I think that he could've said that Shrub has continued to beat around the bush (no pun intended) and play political games with our troops' lives (maybe not that harsh, but something along those lines).
That being said, the poster above had a good point that first he needs to reach out to the people watching FAUX news.
