Help me understand the newfound respect for Lindsey Graham
He was visibly complicit in the impeachment of the last legally elected President of the United States. He was one of the hand wringing moralizers that cast themselves as inquisitors of William Jefferson Clinton.

He's a squirrelly fucking weasel, mixed mammalian metaphors aside.

Lately he's been singing against the choir to save his squirrelly ass and pump up his imitation of a moderate.

Why's he so popular here?

That tiny head, second from the right, in the top row ..... that's him. Has everyone forgotten about this?

1. I agree with you
If the polls show support for *, Graham will spin on the dime. Same if he's told to cut a switch and then gets taken to the woodshed by * for a whoopin'. You know how sadistic * is, after all. That whoopin' should be any minute now.

6. Most politicians will spin on a dime; they do what they can to get elected
That is just the nature of the beast.

3. I'll NEVER forgive him for what he did to Clinton...ever.

The whole freakin' committee that sat up their MORALIZING and then we find out that Bob, Mr. Constitution, Barr had had an affair, Dan Burton had had an affair, Henry Hyde had a "youthful indiscretion" and Bob Livingstone had had an affair. AND LINDSEY GRAHAM is gay? There's nothing wrong with being gay, but you shouldn't be supporting a party that discriminates against them and pass YOUR MORALS off on everyone else.

The man isn't popular with me. I detest him and ALL hypocritical repukes. :grr:

It's all about the Washington in crowd. They tell us who is OK and who isn't and we're supposed to just lay there and take it.

Fuck them and fuck anyone who supported or voted to impeach Clinton

5. I don't care about Lindsay Graham.
In fact, whatever he does is of no concern to me. I think the man gets some things right and alot of other things wrong. He isn't like flip flopper John McCain or Kerry though and is pretty grounded.

7. I agree with you.
I am also glad that he is doing this. Do I respect him? Not really but he is going out on a limb with the administration. It is most likely to save his skin at home but still, it is not an easy track to take.

Still, I certainly do not trust him and my respect is only because he is taking the risk of being visably upset about this.

8. this war isnt the only thing he has spoken out of, but......it isnt
Edited on Tue Jun-28-05 10:56 PM by seabeyond
like he is pal/friend either. i dont care who the person is, if they use reason i am going to reward them with a pat on the back. be it our quiet shy dems speaking out, or a repug speaking out. i have seen (and raising children i know) patting the dems on the back when they find the courage to speak out is effective. especially the big to do with boxer on jan 6. and kerry with his caught liar and crooks comment. you could just see these people look around in amazement that they are being supported.

it does nothing but help us to support a person that is speaking out in a manner that is productive for us

you may want to ignore graham, continue to diss him, dismiss what he is saying, but...... that isnt productive nor taking advantage of an opportunity.

how smart is that

9. Bob Barr did quite a turnaround, too.
To just an extent, I can scrounge up a small amount of respect for both for being able to buck the neo-cons. That's more than others are doing - & I'm referring to those Republicans who can only express their dissatisfaction in hushed tones instead of speaking out & putting themselves on the line. You have to respect that.
