Overnight polls show speech watchers convinced
Just saw it on CNN. 63% of speech watchers now convinced Bush has a clear plan in Iraq.

Of course, 50% of speech watchers were Republicans. 24% were Democrats, and 27% call themselves independent.

It was also noted that most people who watched the speech support Bush*.

22. The plan is "victory" whatever the hell that may be.
He didn't lay out a plan, just a bunch of mindless emotive rhetoric, as usual. Folks who thought they heard him lay out a plan simply were not listening. It is mind boggling.

6. AOL News rates brush poor.
With over 230,000 people voting, 54% say brush's speech is poor and 74% are very concerned (still) about Iraqi. Further down the website, things only get worse for brush. With over 100,000 people voting, 77% are not satisfied with the progress in Iraqi, 65% don't believe the US will defeat the insurgents, and 74% say the war is not worth the human cost. http://aolsvc.news.aol.com/news/article.adp?id=20050628021309990014&ncid=NWS00010000000001

8. Exactly
The week before the July 4th holiday is certainly a lousy time to do a big speech about his disaster, not exactly a lot of people thinking about watching the TV at 8PM/ET. I think the public is tuning this joke of a President out, but too late.

11. The problem, as I see it, is this.
Unless you're a programmed Bushbot, it's extremely difficult to intentionally tune in and watch the guy. For starters, your television set is in peril - be sure to remove all hard objects from the immediate area. Secondly, anyone with blood pressure problems will be at risk for blowing a gasket. And, finally, there's the Pepto-Bismal. If you don't have it in the house, don't watch. No sense messing up good carpeting for this idiot.

17. Great!
If we are going to "Stay The Course" with IRAQ we need to shore up our military with new recruits. Those who support bush MUST be the ones who fight this war! That's all there is to it. What is the best way to connect the recruiters with these people? We have got to make people embarrassed to say they support bush unless they either have a child in the military or unless they are signing up themselves!

I DO have a child in the military right now. My son-in-law. I have two grandchildren that need their father. If anyone tells me they support bush, I will ask them whether they plan to sign their children up for this war and if not why not? I will then dismiss any further discussion after that point if the answer is negative since basically they then are not really serious about supporting bush.

We need polls that ask bush supporters and war supporters if they are in the military, are planning on signing up or have children who are going to sign up!

19. Much the same with C-spn this morning
All of the republicans see dubya as a glorious leader and the dems are subdued or hang ups etc.
I am extremely scared for my country. They are even more deluded than I thought.

20. Just Wait A Week
The support will evaporate as quickly as it condensed. The drones will figure out that nothing was really said. And, the week of criticism will start to impact the opinions of the fence riders.

Only the radicals will think it was a good speech by next Wednesday.

23. A poll llike this on CNN surprises you?? They put one out immediately
after to show fake support for their Fuhrer. They lose a lot of dough if the Chimpster falls out of grace. They paid for him, dammit, they want their money's worth!
