Did Ya Know There's A House Seat For The Taking? Ohio-02
http://blog.oh02.com/category/democrat/hackett/page/2/

I saw a brief report the other day about this race...it's Southern Ohio...to replace Rob Portman, whose become this regime's new skittles counter, and features quite a very interesting Democrat, Paul Hackett...an Iraqi war vet, going up against a Repugnican machine pol.

I'm curious if others are following this race. This was the only one I could find that had some link to make a donation...I couldn't fine an official Hackett or Second Congressional Democrats of Ohio site. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

If you're really interested in sending a chilling statement to this regime and the corporate media, a Hackett victory would be very sweet. Not only would this be a pick-up and the start on the road back to retaking the House, but sending a message to struggling Democrats everywhere that we stand ready to support our candidates.

1. Paul Hackett, Ohio CD-2 candidate, info.
I'm in Cincinnati, western terminus of CD-2. Here're the contacts.

Website: <www.hackettforcongress.com>
E-mail: <hackettforcongress@yahoo.com>
Campaign HQ: 513-735-4310

He can use donations of time, enthusiasm and of course, funds.
He was on CNN yesterday, and the phones lit up with people
from all over wanting to help. Best of all, he's not part of party
machine politics; he's his own man. Refreshing and essential!

The opponent is an anti-abortion, "one-issue" woman, who won their primary against some big (local) rethug males, including the son of Sen. Mike DeWine, who finished fourth! Delicious, as he was the party "favorite" (they didn't endorse anyone IIRC) and had a million$$ to spend. Be a part of the first Democratic win this election cycle!

2. Thank You So Much
I saw the report and tried to google around...I got Hackett's law firm and some posts about the primary in Freeperland (not a good source to cite here...LOL) and wanted to find out more.

Then I saw this post drop like a rock...no one responding. This sounds like something we can all rally around. I'm in Illinois, but my checkbook does travel, as I'm sure other DUers are as well. But there's also a need for other things. If you're with the campaign, please let us know.

That Repugnican primary sounded like a nice mud bath and should depress Repugnican votes, but you don't win elections on why not to vote for the other guy.

Good luck and thanks for your reply.
