"Support for re-election of Schwarzenegger plummets"

SACRAMENTO, California -- Just a few months ago Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appeared unbeatable in the 2006 gubernatorial campaign. Now a poll shows less than 40 percent of registered voters are inclined to vote for him.

A Field poll released today shows only 39 percent of registered voters would cast their ballot to re-elect Schwarzenegger. That compares to 56 percent in February. It comes on the heels of a series of Field polls that show Californians believe the state is on the wrong track and that the governor is largely to blame.

18. Over confident? A year to go...Republican money machine, media, smear,
distort and two very boring democratic candidates.

Millions with no loyalty or party ideology will always vote for flash & Hollywood in the end and you can be sure (Rove and the CA republicans have huge plans for Arnold and flash)...

As these boring Dem candidates fight it out and they point the Dems as no new ideas, and flip-flopper's as sparkling Arnold move in with all the lies needed to win...Flash, will always win with most television watching voters...

I seem it happen so many time before and it will happen many times again.

Don't be over-confident with some silly polls a full year away from the election!

16. The people of California are having themself a little naughty pout.
They are like children that love me one second then
pretend to don't love me the next second. They are
like Maria that pouts and puts her lower lip over
her uper lip to get their way. I think it is cute how
people try to pretend that they don't love me just so
I will love them even more, kind of like God. I will
save them from themself as always. I will let them
dangel from the cliff of not loving me for a little
while longer, then I will extend my golden muscular
rippling arms and pluck them from their own pouty
selves.

21. Wake up! Yes, he will if we don't continue to fight this fuck, expose him,
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 03:48 PM by Zinfandel
donate and work hard for and with the Democrat canidate...we have to constantly challenge the media and their inevitable support and slant for Arnold...with letters and calls public outrage and protest.

There's a full year to go...there's no way the republicans are just going to give up California...they have too much to lose and they are going to put all their resources legal & illegal to assure it.

26. Thank you.
I couldn't have done it without all of you DUers
that put all money in my pocket to watch me save
good American people from evil alien forces.

When I left Switzerland for America, 0% people
thought I couled find America. When I landed in
America and said I will be the greatest he-man in
the world, 0% thought I could. When I became greatest
he-man and said I will now be most famous, strong, happiest
movie star in the world, 0% said I will. 100% said change
your name, change your accent, or else you get nowhere. When I said
I will run for Governor, 0% said I would make it. Now I say
I will be President and 0% say I can because of silly
Constitution. So you see 39% I laugh at with my happy powerful
laugh. When the election comes again California will be back--
back under my trance that is. I will show you Americans what it
means to be American. Why do you fight me? Why do you fight the
inevitable? Give up. Yield to your inevitable love for me, as
I have.

11. Seems like the same old republican tried & true tactic, to me...
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 03:50 PM by Zinfandel
Keep the democrats over-confident, and the Dems get complacent and do nothing, letting the polls speak for them and thinking they have it in the bag.

By letting the Dems believe they can win with the boring, no chance to win candidates they are offering right now, Phil Angelides and Steve Westly, instead of some Democrat who is more exciting charismatic and magnetic...Remember it's the republicans who control these media outlets & polls (and the "Field Poll" is one of the most conservative of all the polls, the last thing they want to do is bring good news to the Dems)...BEWARE!

It seems to me the republicans are right on schedule to bring in their huge money machine to close in and distort, smear, and steal the election with the republican owned and operated electronic voting machines.

As we watch the Democrats scream with happiness with these misleading poll numbers.

There is a lot of work to be done, to try and stop the republican money machine that will absolutely overwhelm the state a year from now... AND with the media's help!!!

The republicans are not under ANY circumstance going to let Arnold lose California, the republicans just stole the CA Secretary of States office a few month's ago and Sec. of State who counts the votes (Remember Harris-FL, Blackwell-OH) and the new republican Sec. of State is now bringing in electronic voting machines all over the state of California.

Rove & The republicans are going to lie, cheat, smear, distort, using all their usual tactics to go along with a train-load of money, all the money that musclehead wants and needs so to keep California in the republicans hands...and the future (Arnold) of the republican party.

The media will have their republican owned corporate mainstream media doing all they can to keep Arnold's star rising & glowing, Schwarzenegger is their darling, he sells newspapers and boost ratings...The Dems need someone like that.

Absolutely the only way the Democrats have a chance to get back the governor's seat and keep the State out of the ultra right-wing religious fascist hands (who are drooling at the thought) IS to have someone with equal star status run on the Democrat side...Like a Warren Beatty, a George Clooney or an Alec Baldwin.

Unfortunately, it truly has come to this, in order to get so many voters with their heads up their ass, to pay attention!!!

25. Ha. That Orange County/San Diego/Bakersfield triangle seems a lot smaller
when it has to face a real Statewide assessment. The recall was the extremists' only possible grab at the Statehouse. Their money worked once, but lots of folks are seeing it for what it is.

Ha.

31. Here is a copy of the email I sent him a few weeks ago
I am so disappointed that you have called for a special election. Thanks to you, we will have a nasty and expensive campaign that will rip this state apart.

As a SECOND-GENERATION CALIFORNIAN my heart is full of sorrow. My greatest hope is to elect someone with vision, fairness and the qualifications necessary to govern a state of such size and diversity.

You have made my state the laughing stock and I am truly embarrassed, for both of us.

27. Wasn't he supposed to "terminate" the debt?
Guess that his Hollywood buddies (you know, the ones who keep conservatives out of films :eyes:) didn't write him a good script AFTER he was elected . . .

"Hey, Ahnold, ride around in your H2 while people have to walk to work because they can't afford gas . . ."
