3. I actually agree with him.. Why SHOULD Canada be our drugstore? |
|
WE need to pressure drug companies in our own country. It's just a shell game to do it any other way.
Drug manufaturers as much as told canada that their supplies would be curtailed if they continued to re-sell to us, so what should they do? Create shortages for their own people, so a few enterpreneurs can get rich by re-sale? or insire that they have a stable affordable supply for their own people?

4. This could have big ramifications |

IF canada's supply stops based on a shortage, it would most likely be due to an epidemic. Canada and US share so many people that an epidemic in Canada would likely also be one in the US. Then again, maybe I'm just being paranoid.
I wonder if it was pressure from Bush or an internal decision.

5. they aren't talking about stopping because of a current shortage |
|
rather, they want to prevent a shortage in Canada that might be caused by massive US imports.
I agree with them. Force the drug companies to stop charging US customers more than the rest of the world.

Yeah, I didn't think it was a current shortage, but I was worried about a future shortage caused by an epidemic. But whatever, you're probably right. Probably a good thing.

not individual ones.
Cheap drugs from here, sold in bulk to the US, will become expensive drugs there sold by companies...and could leave Canada short after we bought them in the first place

8. Dems should use this to pound Big Pharma |
|
-the ones who aren't bought off that is.
Will they? Healthcare has gone up 20% per year for the last 4 years with no end in site. The recent congressional corporate theft of denying the taxpayers to negotiate price figures into this. We are being screwed, blued, and tattooed.
