Ron Reagan is a liberal?
I'm watching the clip from Reagan's show on MSNBC about the 9/11 controversy memorial thing and he said he was a liberal. I didn't know that. Wow. Very different from papa Reagan. I wonder how the republicans feel about that!

So I'd say it's a possibility.

He has been an outspoken Lib for more than 20 years. His sister is liberal as hell too.

Ron even gave a speech at the Democratic National Convention last year

I just didn't know he was a total liberal. I just thought he was for stem cell research.

Lots of people may have missed these facts about the biological son and daughter of Ronald W. Reagan -- they are liberals. I interviewed a woman named Midge Decter who wrote a book a long time ago called "Liberal Parents, Radical Children" (1975). We discussed the fact that kids often choose lifestyles and values that are far away from those of their parents.

My parents are republican (well my mother isn't anymore) and I'm a very very left-leaning person. It's weird since I'm also of the Christian faith people always ask me how I can be both. Simple really. But anyways. I knew Reagan spoke about stem cells at the DNC convention but didn't know he himself was a self-proclaimed liberal. I just thought he was for stem cells cause of his experience with his dad.

My entire family is Right Wing Libertarians. Thank goodness they don't believe in mixing Church and State. At least on some social issues, we can "somewhat agree."

I think that's what I'm watching now. He's talking about the freedom thing. I actually agreed with the other lady. She said if people want to have a freedom memorial type thing to do it off location and I also liked what Ron said and that was to have the towers re-built and have a little area inside the building for a memorial type thing for all those who died. I know that Reagan was once a democrat until Karl Rove turned him. What's Mrs Reagan? Anybody know? I also have heard that Laura Bush was once a democrat until she met Bush.

That was the present governor of Texas, Rick Perry. Reagan changed to a Republican around the time of the Goldwater candidacy.

and I've always found him to be smack dab in the middle on every issue out there.

I guess knowing the Bush family nudged him a nanometer to the left of center.

He's articulate and has access to media, so I'll welcome him. We can use all the help we can get.

8. Yeah he is, always was.
And Reagan is a far better liberal than Tom DeLay or his skunks are. Those people are way too liberal, way too much spending and lavish extremes!!!

He has churches carrying him like a cross!!!

Reagan on the other hand is a liberal moderate, I never really disagreed with Reagan. I think he's a good man and never became corrupted like Nixon, Clinton, etc in their horrible terms.

Though I do not propose that he is a progressive, he's a little more reserved then that.

30. Nope.
That's how a liberal is defined basically, even using Rush's rhetoric.

Tom DeLay type spending is totally liberal, Ron Reagan is a better liberal because he actually CONSERVES like a conservative does....And cares to give benefit money to the veterans. If it wasn't for people like him the VA wouldn't have their benefits.

Ronald W. Reagan and his first wife, actress Jane Wyman, is very right wing and does have a radio program. Perhaps you don't hear it in the area where you live.

http://www.michaelreagan.com/

They also had a biological daughter, Maureen Reagan, who was also a liberal before her early death. Seems Michael was given short shrift when Ronald divorced Jane and married Nancy Davis Reagan.

I like to look at him.

He also does awesome commentary on the Animal Planet's dog shows. Seems to be a very down-to-earth individual. Lives in Seattle, Washington. Admits he is NOT religious -- he even described himself as an atheist (see the clip below on this thread of Ron's interview with Larry King).

Seems like he had many disagreements w/ dad, but many fond memories.

The beauty of it was when he told the audience that although his dad was always religious, he never wore his religion on his sleeve, like some current politicians... (not exact quote) however a major dig at Bush Jr.

It's not easy being a different person from your Dad -- and having the world take note of it if your Dad was President -- must be an awesome burden.
