Kerry's 'viability' in the political structure precludes any possibility
that he will even suggest withdrawal of the troops or question the legality of the war. That will be political suicide for a man who has presidential ambitions. He will continue to dance around the problem of the essential illegality of the war and offer his plan which will be a slight variation of Bush's plan in order to test the waters for a repeat attempt at the nomination.

1. No I don't believe that....
He doesn't agree with the DLC and he is the one forcing senate investigations on DSM. Why the hell would he sell everyone out and NOT get the evidence?

Do you know the man has been a federal prosecutor half his life?

2. Horsepoo. Kerry is a man who truly thinks about the consequences of war
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 08:05 PM by blm
and his efforts over the years helped bring an end to three wars. I doubt that you even knew that.

You do NOT KNOW Kerry. You think you do...but, you don't.

3. What is that supposed to mean?At the time he endorsed the IWR,
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 08:16 PM by KlatooBNikto
there were already strong indications that evidence was being manufactured, as attested by no less a person than Ambassador Wilson.Yet he saw fit to vote for the IWR. He has yet to repudiate his support for that resolution knowing the implications of the DSM.

He simply wants to trade places with Bush and continue the killing his way.If he even tries to do anything different both the DLC Trojan Horses and the RW in this country will mount a savage attack on him.So I do not expect any changes, your testimonials notwithstanding. His complete cave in after Ohio should make one wary of his promises.

4. Shame on you for even suggesting that Kerry wants to kill people like Bush
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 08:28 PM by blm
Shame on your complete ignorance of what Kerry has stood for his entire life.

Blame the IWR and you let Bush off the hook for not implementing the IWR honestly. IWR guidelines would have prevented war.

Read Bonifaz' testimony before Conyers...Bush should be impeached because he went against the guidelines of the IWR.

If, as you and Rove claim, that IWR gave Bush all the power he needed then Bush shouldn't be impeached.

5. So what does he plan to do with the extra troops he wants?use them as
traffic cops?

That Kerry is a man who has been spineless throughout this ordeal needs no repetition. His only gripe with Bush is that Bush is not more efficient at killing which Kerry plans to remedy with more troops on the ground.I expect him to state at some stage that he has killed vietcong with his bare hands while Bush hasn't and that qualifies him for the task. There is no need to sugar coat this guy who has boasted about his killing skills.

You do not know Kerry. Have you done 1% as much as Kerry has to effect this nation positively?

Have YOU helped to end three wars?

Have YOU exposed more government corruption than any other lawmaker in modern history?

9. Why? Is Kerry to be worshipped without any questions? Look where it got
us when he endorsed the war without asking any questions. For your information, I will take one Robert Byrd,or One John Conyers than a hundred Kerrys.BTW where was he hiding when John Conyers and Cindy Sheehan were walking the petition over to the WH?

Sorry to scold you in public but I can't pm you.

You allowed your positive thread on Kerry to sink while you are, in effect, kicking this negative one.

Get with the program girl. :-)

15. And the RW will mount a savage attack on him
Gee, they've never done anything like that before. NOT! Kerry has been attacked a few times before and it hasn't stopped him from doing the right thing.

Until I heard Douglas Brinkley on one of the TV shows talking about how viciously the Nixon/Colson people went after Kerry, I hadn't realized how serious their attacks were. After they found that Kerry was a war hero and squeaky clean, they are on tape saying they wanted to "destroy" him. For over a year he was trailed by the FBI and his phone was bugged - and they found nothing illegal or anything they could use to discredit him. When he attempted to run for Congress, they had fliers accusing him of being a drug addict. They managed to create enough hatred that he and his wife repeatedly had their tires slashed, they were insulted wherever they went, they had bricks thrown through the windows of their house, one almost hitting their baby. Kerry was still at this time dealing with nightmares from Vietnam.

When he investigated the Contras bringing drugs into the US, they not only tried to block his investigations, but even attempted to frame him for drug dealing. The media, including such MSM as newsweek called him a conspiracy nut. He totally risked his career and reputation.

He was harassed when he worked on BCCI and the POW/MIA investigations.

So, yeah he never risks anything because he's afraid of the RW.

By the way, on Ohio, Dean and the DNC reached the same conclusion 6 months after Kerry had to decide what to do.

You seem to be conceding that a strong anti-war position is the kiss of electoral death.

11. It would not be if the Dems have the courage to stand up and energize
their base.Instead they cater to the same constituency as the Republicans including the corporate funding sources. That makes it impossible for them to strike a separate course, even though they have the numbers behind them.

14. Look why is everyone always attacking John Kerry now.
I'm starting to wonder myself. I think there might be a right-wing agenda to attack the guy, and he doesn't deserve all this persecution for crying out loud.

He's leading the investigations for the SENATE!!!! Would anyone else have that much spine?!?? And damn, the way some people write you'd think Kerry was just a DLC shill.

Lets wait and see what he actually does and not criticize the man for what he talks about. I mean really, he wants to save lives too, even if the Iraq situation can not be left alone without securing the borders.

Dean outlined a great plan, a great alternative today....I don't know if Kerry will take it or not, but we need to move the hell off their resources!!!!

DLC & PNAC want to keep their resources guarded, that's what is fueling the hatred over there. We have to get them out and move forces in to guard the borders.

17. I will concede this much to Kerry. He served the country honorably when
Bush and Cheney were hiding behind draft deferments in one form or another. That alone earns him my respect.

But until he grows some spine and repudiates the PNAC doctrine of World Hegemony and perpetual war, he will always be suspect in my eyes.I believe he is under a tight restraint because the DLC controls his funding sources.

Looks like some people are still bitter over the election. I wonder what have other Democrats planned as exit strategies than what Kerry has to offer?

:boring:
