I'm sorry CA Duers, I know this is important to you, but I am soooooo tired of the 24/7 coverage of Ahnold, the court case(s), etc.

Now if it were to get rid of DBT (Dickhead Bob Taft) I might be able to drum up a little interest. But I will be soooo glad when it's over out there.

And saying that, GO DEM (ANY DEM) IN CA!

1. You're tired? You outta live here.
It's fucking pathetic. If Davis could pull this out it would be the biggest "SHUT THE FUCK UP!" of all time.

6. Sorry to upset your sensibilities.
But I think "SHUT THE FUCK UP" works better in this case.

and an endless parade of clowns.

4. SO over it.
While it is a big deal because this hasn't really happened before (and therefore serves to give all wingnuts hope that they too can overthrow democratically elected officials who happen to be Democrats), I'm SO sick of hearing about it.

SO sick. I don't even watch the newschannels anymore because I know they're all about that.

Ah well, distracts them from the Democrats laying a whupping to Georgie's hiney. At least he's popular in Iraq!

5. As a Californian, I can honestly
say that I'm as sick of the recall crap as you are - and probably more because you are spared the Arnold
commercials that play relentlessly.

I recently took a part-time job and the bozo in the next cubicle plays a freeper radio station all day long that does nothing
but bash Davis and Bustamante and encourage McClintock to drop out to improve Arnold's chances. I will be so grateful when it's over and Davis (hopefully) keeps his job.

By the way, according to the office freeper, Bustamante will "turn California into the third world." What an asshole.

8. The crazy thing about the freeper, is that the Republicans are ACTUALLY
trying to turn the US inton a Banana Republic run by dictators to benefit the rich.

If your co-worker's concern is whether the US is going to be more or less like the third-world, he should be voting for Democrats who are interested in America getting rich (and have actually been the only party to make America richer).

10. This particular freeper is too far gone.
He has been thoroughly indoctrinated by Rush Limbaugh and thinks if you're not a repuke, you're a "commie." The poor idiot makes squat, lives in a dump, hates unions and minorities, and consistently votes against his own self-interest. A classic freep.

16. I'd say he must be my brother--
--but my brother lives on the East Coast.

Hates unions even though he's a goddamn Teamster (go figure). Thinks Iraq "shock and awe" was justifiable payback for 9/11. You know the rest, yada yada.

7. I'm not sick of it. I'm very excited to defend democracy. I guess
if I listened to CNN et al whoring for Arnold, I'd be sick of that. But I don't watch CNN, so I'm just energinzed to vote Democratic.

9. I feel your pain
Eileen,

I am in complete agreement with you. It's very difficult to get into the hoopla if you are not from California; and frankly, I am glad not to be a California citizen. I think I'd have to slit my wrists.

12. They're selling it to get this reaction. The fewer people
vote, the more likely a Republican will win. The more people think it's a circus, the more likely those who vote will waste their vote on Arnold.

Don't fall for the hype. Care about democracy and stop watching CNN.

13. But, it's such a short thing - Poof! and
it'll be over before you know it. How will you ever make it through the presidential election froo-fraw if this little short and rather entertaining thing wears you out? I think the national media are deliberately playing up the circus aspect, though (and playing, and playing...) I'm sure in part as hand-waving for distraction and circuses for the masses. The strongly positive aspect is the questioning and debating and talk of issues that's going on locally. Don't believe you're picking it up if you're not here, but I think a lot of californians understand the roots of the state's problems, and that a lot of states have similar problems with similar roots. Gray is not a particularly adept politician; he has flaws; he's an immensly unremarkable administrator who tries to please everyone especially if everyone has lots of money - but he's not really responsible for the current disaster - and now I think most people realize that.

I have to confess that I'm really looking forward to seeing this debate TONIGHT with 1 Dem (Bustamante), 2 Repubs (Ahnold & McClintock), 1 GREEN (Camejo) and 1 Independent (Arianna).

Take a watch tonight.

Not sure who is televising, but I know FOX is.

If the previous debates are any indication (& not sure they are here with the rules in this one), then it sholuld get pretty lively. The previous debates have been entirely different than other debates because of the inlcusion of the Green Party candidate and Arianna. It's quite refreshing to see the extra viewpoints, and it creates quite a debate. Check it out. Coming up in 1.5 hours.
