Luckily, I never have to...but many of you do. And as the saying goes... "Another Bush, Another Recession" and as you can see below, it always happens when these lying republicans are in office. It's their agenda and ideology to have everyone fighting for fewer and fewer jobs...so they can offer less in wages and salaries. And throw you out of work if you make "waves" (wanting a UNION) because there's plenty of workers to hire, since these corporations do their best to ensure unemployment remains high, because it's to their advantage and benefit to do so. This is done purposely by the corporately owned and controlled, republican party.

FDR came into office with 23% unemployment. Truman left office 20 years later with 2.5% unemployment.

Eisenhower took that 2.5% unemployment and turned it into 6.5% unemployment by the time he left office in 1961.

Kennedy and LBJ brought that 6.5% unemployment down to 3.5% by 1969.

Nixon and Ford took it back up to 7.5%.

Carter both came in and left office with 7.5% unemployment -- the only Democrat since 1933 who didn't bring down unemployment. And it didn't go up under him either.

Reagan turned 7.5% unemployment into an unimpressive low of 5.3% before it went back up to 7.5% when George H.W. Bush left office.

Bill Clinton turned that 7.5% unemployment into a low of 3.9% in 2000.

Dubya has us back in the 6% range.

Between 1969 and 1997, Republicans were in the Whitehouse for 20 of those 28 years, and unemployment was over five percent for 27 of them. No Republican administration has left office with less than 5.5% unemployment since the roaring twenties.

That, Little Brain on the Right, is what is known as a SLAM DUNK.

3. Well yeah . . .
higher unemployment means more workers competing for fewer jobs which translates into lower wages for all (except, of course the CEOs). Cheap labor conservatives love lower wages.

If you ask a CLC (Cheap Labor Conservative) what his fondest wish is and he'll probably tell you "slave labor".

Of course, who's going to buy the crap they produce if no one is working?

4. Please note:
That 6% figure is from the U-1 unemployment figures, perhaps the most misleading of the trackings. The most accurate number may well be the U-5, which was, last I looked, at 9.8%.
