Bingo, you've got it. Those policies are philosophically repugnant to them. They believe that they have a moral responsibility to reverse them. What they don't seem to realize is, rather than being a threat to capitalism, these policies may actually have saved it. Without a prosperous middle class, you have no customers and without at least some sense of financial security people will be reluctant to spend on anything beyond essentials.
