Keep talking! Just met another Dem who had not heard of DSM |
|
We started talking about the speech last night and she said she was just hoping for someone new in 2008. I said that she should focus on Congressional races in 2006. If we change the makeup of the House and/or Senate, the possiblility of impeachment would get closer. She thought that no one had shown that Bush lied. "I mean, maybe he really didn't know". Out came my copy of the DSM. She had NEVER heard of it. I explained that it was real and that the British press had proven its validity. That our media was dragging its feet.
She is impressed and wants to talk to some others she knows.
Keep it up gang! If a liberal Dem didn't know about DSM, you can bet independents are likely to not know either. Heck, even fence-sitting Repubs are not likely to know. Keep talking to people and just have some copies of DSM with you to give them the info right then.

2. I have talked to two registered democrats who didn't have a clue about |
|
what I was talking about when I said Downing Street Memos. They just gave me a look like WTF? And seriously, these were not stupid people. I thought that they got around a little more than the obviously do.
I was wrong.

3. The ones I've talked with that didn't know are burnt out on it all. |
|
They can't keep up with all the bs and are just tired and missed the DSM. They get around, but there is just too much to keep up with, so if we each keep up with some, we mght be able to keep up.

4. That sounds like a logical, reasonable explanation. They don't spend |
|
a lot of time on political websites either. Now that you've made me consider this, I suppose it's really not so strange that they didn't know. I know there's days that I wish I didn't know as much (or any) of what I know as well.
Ignorance might well be bliss.
