2. Yep. Another example of Christian (registered trademark symbol here) |
|
These people are so far away from the teachings of Jesus Christ, I daresay they are the anti-Christ.

in my husband's church (lutheran) as well.
Logic & rational thought = the devil. Tolerance = the devil. Universal Human Rights = the devil.
It's not even the most conservative synod of the church - though I can't imagine how they could get any more conservative. (and yes, the husband is talking about leaving that church, as a result.)

Yes, Missouri Synod. The crazy thing is that the pastor was a normal guy I could talk to, intelligent, witty, and he seemed to be exceedingly tolerant - he's been great to me, knowing I'm an atheist.
But for the last couple years he's been getting progressively more right wing and preaching thinly veiled politics. He's never mentioned a candidate by name, but if we get their early we catch the tail end of bible study and I notice lately that what they're studying is how the bible shows that going to war is a good thing. During the elections he was showing how the bible says the death penalty is fine, but abortion is evil.

14. Intolerance is not a moral value |

I like it! I was thinking of one that says 'Diversity is Beautiful'. I consider myself a Christian (liberal) but I must say it is getting harder to keep myself distinquished from those other kind of Christians...

7. They are proud of their intolerance... |
|
I was watching a special about the abstinence only (or as I like to call it "anal-only") education in Lubbock TX, and one of their own pastors said "Christianity is the most intolerant religion in the world"...as if it were a point of pride. Apparently they prefer to look to Jesus as their savior, but the old testament for their social policy!:silly:  :wtf:

After some observations of fundies, they are literal with the OT but see Jesus as a free ticket to Heaven. All you have to do is believe, think that OT is literally true, and you're set to hate away. Best way to get people to vote Republican is a platform of hate, anger, and need to kill.

And yes, he talked about truth, too. (Assuming Jesus actually existed and we assume accurate what has been attributed to him, and I'm not in a big hurry to do either of those things.)
The driver is an idiot of Biblical proportions. And wants the world to know it.
