Proof that God has a sense of humor... |
|
Otherwise he would have incinerated these whack job assholes by now. Thank goodnes Freerepublic is around to make me feel superior!
We pray for their Commander-in-Chief, a man whose love, pride, and confidence in our military was so obvious as he addressed them and our nation last night. Father, place Your wisdom within him that his words and deeds may be from You. Let his goodness silence those whose mission seems to be his destruction at whatever cost to our nation. Let Your truth shed light on their lies and deceits that they may be revealed for what they are, men and women lusting for power rather than the betterment and the security of our nation. Protect our President, his family, and his administration from those who wish them harm.
Lord, at times we fight despair and discouragement as we see the outrages in our society today. We are appalled at those who champion the destruction of the unborn; we are confounded at the licentiousness and debauchery that runs rampant in our land as many put their own pleasure ahead of all else; we regret the loss of integrity and honesty that we see so often around us; we are shocked at those who seek to deny even the mention of Your Holy and Precious Name and who seek to hide Your Commandments from public view. Lord, we throw ourselves on Your mercy, pleading with You to forgive our nation and set us back on the path of righteousness. Watch over Your remnant, faithful to You and striving to do Your will. In the Name of our Savior, Jesus, the Christ. Amen 1 posted on 06/30/2005 12:14:19 AM PDT by kayak < Post Reply | Private Reply | View Replies | Report Abuse >

8. Two very appropriate quotes... |
|
... which do need to be read one after the other:
"I trust God speaks through me." --George W. Bush, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, August, 2004
"Who says I am not under the special protection of God?" --Adolf Hitler

... a belief in the victimization of Xtians, doesn't it?
But, when I read this, all I can think of is Frank Burns on his knees....
And why does it seem that so much of that "licentiousness and debauchery" in the news today seems to be originating from their Republican heroes?
Why does it seem that the "loss of integrity and honesty" is personified in their idols, such as Tom DeLay?
Why is it that the most untruthful and deceitful person in government today is the President himself, who this person asks God to shield?
And, what happened to that edict to go to your closet to pray, that the man who prays in public serves his own pride?
So many hypocrites, so little time.... :)
Edit for syntax.

9. There was a commercial on CNN for the Bible on DVD. |
|
Nice product, but the method of selling was a little crass. A staged loving family alternating adoring gazes from the tv screen to each other. Commercial put together with the same panache as an infomercial for the Bedazzler, or Ginsu knives. "Call now and we'll include..." with that guy's voice.
Right after that, CNN had "breaking news". "Church Van Crashes". I did feel very bad because apparently one child was killed, but I was trying to figure out why this was breaking news...was it because it was a *church* van crashing? If you took out the word "church" their hot breaking story would be "Van crashes." Hardly something CNN should break live with aerial footage.
