Job picture so bleak even Jenna & Barb can't find employment! |
|
If I'm wrong on this one, someone please correct me, but it has been over a year since these two graduated from college, and there has been no news that either of them has looked for, let alone found gainful employment. In fact, there has been no news of them since the round of innaugural parties. Are they even still in the US? Returned to their party haunts in the south of France? How are they spending this summer when young Americans are being blown to bits in Afghanistan and Iraq?
Remember how other first families would gather together to celebrate holidays and there would be photos of them in your local papers?

the investor class/trust fund crowd are a different breed of cat; i know it, they know it, we know it. they're dad had a hard time finding gainful employ and now look what happened. i sometimes think it better they just live on their dividends & tax cuts & leave the rest of us alone.
a gateway form of employ for many a concerned college grad & although this nation requires social advocates on several levels; i shudder at the thought of the bush twins employed as social advocates as a mere for instance :scared:

11. We are in a similar period of time as during the Civil War... |
|
When the rich didn't serve and only military families were expected to serve.
The rich bought their sons out of the draft by paying some poor schmuck to take their place. The false sense of patriotism being displayed by the repukes falls right in with this mentality. "I support moron* but I feel I could help out more here than getting bullets shot at me. Let some other guy do it." uh huh, right.
What was different about WWII was: everyone just had lived through the depression, rich and poor a like had suffered, so doing ones part of the nation, just seemed the natural course of events.
Yes, the rich also did buy their sons way out of the draft in WWII but not to the extent that it was during the Civil War.
The Viet Nam war saw more of this type of situation. Early on, most of the nation was still riding high on patriotism, so men went off in the early part of the war to do their part. But since there wasn't a draft early on, the others, got deferments, college, family, etc.
However, when the draft came on full bore, suddenly all sorts of favors started to be called in. Our commander in chimp* is a perfect example.
My two cents.

10. I think's Jenna's unemployed, too. No credentials to teach. |
|
Although a big deal was made during the campaign last year that Jenna was going to teach minority kids in an inner-city school, it was later briefly mentioned that Jenna was not going to do that after all because it was learned that she didn't have teaching credentials.
I think one of the girls is rafting at the Grand Canyon with Mom this week.
Probably those two are living at the WH, partying in "safe" circles and ordering the help around.

opportunities they could do, or even work at the RNC, or for a candidate. This is my opinion as a Mom. They are educated young women, and should be using that education, and being productive members of society, for themselves as modern women.

16. According to Kitty Kelley's book, Bush women do not work. |
|
That was one reason Babs was so disapproving of Lauren Bush's modeling career. I had assumed when the twins finished their expensive college educations we would see them buck the trend, too, but it doesn't seem to have happened. There are lots of volunteer opportunities they could be embarking on while they are waiting for Mr. RightWing to come along.
