Exporting America'
Wednesday, September 24, 2003
Join us for our series of special reports,
"Exporting America," which examine
what's happening in the U.S. job market.
We take an in-depth look at H1-B visas --
held by international workers in the
United States -- and how many jobs are
lost to H1-B visa holders.

Plus, Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colorado,
and Harris Miller, president of the
Information Technology Association of
America, "Face Off" over H1-B visas.
Tancredo is against them, saying that
H1-B workers take U.S. jobs. Miller
supports H1-B visas, arguing that
information technology is a global industry and U.S. companies
need workers from different countries to stay competitive in a
global market.

Also, former Deputy U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Joe Wilson talks
about a Win Without War advertisement calling for Secretary of
Defense Donald Rumsfeld's resignation.

Plus, 'Do Not Call' outrage: We tell you the story and Louisiana
Rep. Billy Tauzin, chairman of the House Committee on Energy
and Commerce, joins Lou with his thoughts on the issue.

'Heroes'
We introduced U.S. Army Spec. Hilario Bermanis during our
"Heroes" segment that aired September 19. Bermanis, a soldier
with the 82nd Airborne Division, lost three of his limbs during
his tour of duty in Iraq. Below is information on how you can
contribute to his recovery.

Tonight's quote
"Most Iraqis welcomed us as liberators, and we glowed with
pleasure at that welcome. But now, the reality of foreign troops
on the streets is starting to chafe. Some Iraqis are starting to
see us more as occupiers than liberators."
Ambassador Paul Bremer, U.S. civilian administrator to Iraq

Tonight's thought
"A man willing to work, and unable to find work, is perhaps the
saddest sight that fortune's inequality exhibits under this sun."
-Thomas Carlyle (1795-1881)
