Dinar "get rich quick scheme": Anyone hear of this?

I am aware that Halliburton contractors (and I am sure others) are buying up Dinars at a rate of 1,000,000 Dinars to $800 US Dollars. Which is a little more that 1,000 Dinar per dollar. The person I know of (friend of a friend) but do not personally know is apparently buying up millions of Dinars and stowing them away in the US. Supposedly the Dinar is to be released "to the world market" (I am not sure what that is) and the exchange rate is expected to be such that these people may get hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of dollars on the sale of their dinars at such rates.

First, has anyone heard of this?
Second, is this a scam?
Third, if it's real, is this a lawful or ethical thing for people to be engaging in?
Fourth, if it's real, legal, and ethical why are Halliburton employees aware of such a situation and able to generously profit, yet I (and many others I assume) are not aware.

Please post and illuminate on this matter. I did check quickly and you can buy Dinar online.

My bias is think this is all a scam. What do you folks know.

1. Really? On the streets of Amsterdam you can buy Dinars

for very little...street vendors sell them and they have a lot of'em.

I have several thousand in Dinars myself.

I just heard of this and I think it's all BS... but I just want to know what others think.

I am certainly not buying Dinars. I think it would give me the creeps.

I saw street vendors selling Dinars with Saddams face (the old Dinar) on them in Amsterdam.

I got mine from Iraq...my husband would buy them with dollars. Also the old Dinars with Saddams face.

You can buy dinar online, off the big ad in USA Today, and I guess wherever Confederate dollars are sold.

You'll lose your investment and probably deserve to.

5. I'm not investing in it. And yes, I agree that those who invest

in such a thing, scam or not, should lose their investment.

I guess I must be totally out of the loop on "the media" or whatever because I had no idea this was "out there".

I've given up on trash like USA today a long time ago.

1) Yes, I've heard of this.

2) No, it isn't a scam so far as I can tell. It is a speculation. More specifically, currency speculation.

3) Yes, as I understand it, it is lawful. I regard speculation as being ethical, so I would view it as ethical.

4) Often, people who think they have inside information - don't.

Keep in mind, for every buyer, there is a seller. So someone is selling the Dinar. Who knows more about the realities of Iraq? The seller, or the prospective buyer?

Personally, I wouldn't do it. I think it's a way to lose one's investment. But then, I don't buy lottery tickets.
