AOL tries to spin Bush, portrays him as having a difficult upbringing
I just found this bio of chimp on AOL's site (don't worry I am not a subscriber), and I thought you would all find this part interesting:

At first they lived in a ramshackle duplex in the roughneck town of Odessa, with two prostitutes renting the other half of the house. Two years later, after a brief time following the elder Bush as a drill-bit salesman in California, they moved to Midland, a more refined city that was better suited to raising a family.

So Bush lived in a "ramshackle duplex" with prostitutes? Can anyone back this up, it appears to me AOL is trying to build false sympathy for Bush

6. I'd charactarize living with Bar as difficult.
They're probably getting the two prostitutes thing mixed up with Jenna and Barbara.

10. Yeah I'm sure the Bush family had it difficult
:eyes: If we want to compare difficult upbringings, Big Dog will win hands down. I just read his book, his father died before he was born and his step-dad was an abusive alcoholic...still he managed to deal with that and become a Rhodes Scholar

17. boo fucking hoo - here's more
The next year, his father, who had become a millionaire, moved the family to Houston.

Two years later, George W. was sent back East to enroll at Phillips Academy, an elite private prep school in Andover, Massachusetts. At Andover, he was a whirlwind of physical activity, playing varsity baseball and basketball and junior varsity football. In basketball he often made self-deprecating jokes about riding the bench. Instead of trying out for varsity football, he became the squad's head cheerleader.

23. Did they repeat the myth about Poppy and Bar blowing into town...
Edited on Thu Jun-30-05 05:25 PM by BiggJawn
...in Poppy's old beat-up Studie?

That drill-bit company Poppy worked for was Dresser Industries, an international that was bought in in 1929 by the W. A. Harriman & company, part of Brown Brothers Harriman (Prescott Bush, Managing Director) Bunny Harriman appointed Henry Neil Mallon (yes, Neil Mallon Bush's namesake) to run it. Prescott Bush joined the BoD in 1930.

Now, if I was working for a company who's president my daddy named my brother after, and daddy was sitting on the board of directors, do you thing *I* would be living in a jerk-water double, sharing a bathroom with a coupla whores?

No, I don't think so.
