Critics Laud LIVE 8 Internet Coverage

In Berlin, Green Day proclaimed its majesty with a cover of Queen's "We Are the Champions" as R.E.M. performed "Man on the Moon" in London. And R.E.M. hadn't left the stage before Tim McGraw began singing "Live Like You Were Dying" in Rome.

These were just a few of Live 8's thrilling musical moments that you couldn't see on live television. For the ultimate viewing experience, you needed America Online.

Television seemed shockingly old-fashioned in how it followed Saturday's worldwide concert for poverty relief. AOL's coverage was so superior, it may one day be seen as a historical marker in drawing people to computers instead of TV screens for big events.

I happen to NOT see any of the shows they say were not good.

By far Sterophonics, Green Day, Kaiser Chiefs, Muse, Black Eyed Peas, Destinys Child, Simple Plan, Bruce Cockburn, Razerlight, Dave Matthews, Snow Patrol, Linkin Park, Killers, Maroon 5 (order I saw them) kicked ass and should have had a higher jump in sales than Pink Floyd. Especially Stereophonics, Green Day, Black Eyed Peas and Linkin Park.

3. Geldof is a genius...

The show was brilliant, the idea was brilliant and the fact that all they did was try to raise awareness was amazing. They didn't ask for any money, all they wanted was a signature and a picture. I've done alot of work for "high society charity events" and they always seem to spend a million dollars to throw a party to raise $100,000 for charity. Nice to see the rockers old and new doing the right thing...

4. Actually, if the Guardian story is correct, it was Bono mostly then a guy

name Richard Curtis. Geldof came in later and reluctantly.
