So What's Judith Miller's motive for stonewalling?

I know there's been much discussion about the thing here...but I haven't seen any theories about motive. (I for one, can't believe she and the NYTimes editorial board really believe they're protecting a "whistleblower." Surely they understand blowing a CIA agent's cover is a crime...so how come they're so determined NOT to talk?
Any ideas?

I believe that Judith Miller didn't want to testify because if she got asked too many questions about her involvement she'd have to invoke the 5th, leading to investigation on a treason charge and then real jail time.

manipulated the intelligence. Downing street says the WH wanted to fix the intel.

Miller can show when and how: vis a vis the yellowcake and perhaps vis a vis biological and chemical agents (David Kelly).

Then we have a WH that actively manipulated and perhaps planted intelligence.
