British Consulates in America (email addys - to let them know you care)
This link will take you to a map. Click on your state and send email to the consulate in your state.

http://www.britainusa.com/sections/index_nt1.asp?i=41023&L1=41003&L2=41023&d=3

If the state link does not have an email addy, and some don't - pick another state and use that email address. They also list numbers but calling right now is not a good idea.

Even if they don't read them today - or even in the next few coming days - they will eventually read them and they will appreciate knowing we care.

This is the email address for Georgia:

BritishConsulateGeneral.Atlanta@fco.gov.uk

7. Thanks for the link. I just e-mailed the Chicago consulate. I just
returned from a two week stay in England Wednesday. They are the most helpful and friendly country.

18. I am also. I wonder sometimes about email. I don't know why it works,
so I don't know if they might be waiting for emails from home and have a lot of other emails to sort through.

12. Done and recommended...
Here's the email I sent:

My heart and prayers go out to the people of London and Great Britain during this tragic time. This is a tragedy for all the world. Your country is far more prepared than we to cope with the destruction and horror of these attacks, and I am confident the British people will triumph. I'm sure the perpetrators of this horrible crime will be pursued, caught and prosecuted, and it will be done through the good old fashioned intelligence and police work for which the British are justifiably famous.

13. Excellent!
I'm listening to the BBC and they are calling it a "criminal" act and one that will be investigated and tried as a "criminal" act...

Good common sense in the face of tragedy.

14. Yea, I've been watching it too...
I've always been an Anglophile, so this is really horrifying to me.
They are handling it so much better than we are. I was listening to Washington Journal a bit earlier, and a lot of the right wingnuts are saying stuff like "let'em try it here, we'll shoot'em" and "see, Islam is evil", etc., etc.. You know how they are...we don't even know who did it yet, and they're making judgements and wanting to shoot people. A lot of people were using it to justify their politics, a lot on the right, some on the left. What blows my mind is the lack of knowledge. Some of the RW seem not to know that Great Britain and Europe have dealt with terrorism for more than, what, 30 years now? and maybe know a little more about HOW to deal with it than we do.

15. I was impressed with the people's reaction (in London)
and it's because they have been dealing with terrorism for years...
