12. Right.
I think this incident could hurt both. I can imagine many people in Britain blaming Blair for getting their country involved in Iraq even though most Brits were opposed.

2. Now, the Britians can change this
propoganda moment or "gift" if they realize they wouud not be in this loop if it were not for the attack on Iraq.

5. Americans will retreat to nationalistic tendencies
Therefore, it will help Bush. While those in the UK will hold Blair somewhat accountable and demand a pull out of Iraq---pointing out that the illegal war is INCREASING terrorist attacks.

6. It hurts both
It couldn't have been timed any better by the terorists to hurt both. Both have been talking up how the world is safer without Sadam.

This flies in the face of two years worth of crappy rhetoric from both morons.

8. People are going to be waking up to
the fact that we have been fighting these guys for years and have made NO PROGRESS, in fact we have made it worse. It is not hard to figure out. Alot of people are saying it could of been us again and what have we done to deter terrorism really?

14. It SHOULD hurt both- you point out both have said the world is
safer without Sadam. But if someone were to say it - anyone nationally known they would be accused of trying to make partisan gain out of this. The British people are not as emotional or stupid as Americans so they will listen to anybody who points out this fact. So I will have to say hurt Blair and prehaps give W a blip upwards-but not enough to last for a time. British hate to be bullied -so they might rally behng Blair - this terrorist attack might be seen as bully behavior by the Brits.

7. I'm afraid that this ...
will give justification for the beligerent foreign policy that we are currently using to "Spread Freedom".

You can bet that both leaders will do use this for political advantage much like they have done with 9/11.

I said this less than a month after 9/11:
"Welcome to the Decade of Terror - Brought to you by the US Government, a control subsidiary of Haliburton."

Cheers
Drifter

11. Americans already behind Bush won't be phased by this. If anything
this incident will simply deepen the rift between the two sides of the aisle.

13. Both will try to use this to their advantage
But both will fail. Blair will fail miserably and I can't see how he will be Prime Minister for too much longer. His legacy is one of lies, war and allowing this attack to happen.

Tony Blair is a joke.

15. I'm not sure
but I just remembered that in the war debates in the House of Commons senior members, including former Tory ministers, warned Blair that an illegal war in Iraq would increase terrorism and that he could be held responsible for any future attack on the UK.

We'll see if they mention that again in a few days time.
