Damn you, Mr. Bush
Damn you.

Countless numbers of Iraquis dead, many children, for your despicable lies. Almost 1800 American soldiers - young and old, black and white, male and female - dead for your lies.

And now, today, untold numbers of British civilians, whose only crime was to be living in the hellish nightmare you created, are dead as well.

When does it end, you heartless son of a bitch? How many more have to die - needlessly - before you take the fake flag of patriotism off your lapel and show all of America the bastard you truly are.

Oh, I expect to see you at any time now, medicated to the max and spewing Chucky-like homilies to the dead, all the while patting your hands together in twisted glee over the fact that you can now add Iran or Syria or Jordan or Egypt or Massachusetts to your "I'll show Daddy" list.

To those grieving across the ocean today, there are millions of us here who offer our sympathy, and our sincerest sorrow that we have foisted this demonic bastard on the world.

We are trying, with every ounce of strength we have, to rid us all of the evil, and to make us once again proud to be Americans.

The memories of the dead deserve no less.

Support of the War and his Hur Bushivitz! And the first thought that came to mind was "what timing," and "$$$$$$$$$$$$$" drumming up the mass terror into all of our minds - that huge smoke screen we'd all been awaiting, sadly so.

Where's all the billion/trillions of $$$ we've spent to protect our own as in London now?

Don't think the masses will buy it either. I did not and I'm just an average citizen, nothing more or less.

People question: How could this have happened when London has been well-prepared for eons against terrorist attacks? How? With all the intelligence and trillions of $$ against this.

Why is Bin Laden no longer an issue, per Hur Bushivitz & bLAir?
Where is all the money going?
Why are our Nat'l Guard not checking our borders?
Why close bases along East/West Coast ASAP on or before Sept?

Corporate rats - The only profiteers: War Corp investors/owners, huh. While the masses are again wrenched with fear, terror though to me it equates to "error" on a masses scale again.

This is just the beginning. Damn-it!

6. Bush appears to have modeled his war on terra on the Israel -
Palestine operation. Like 5 year-olds, one strikes the other and is hit back in retaliation. 9/11 happened and Bush goes after a Muslim country that did nothing to us. People there respond with strikes against westerners world-wide. We 'crank up' the military strikes in Iraq and they hit London. What's next? What country will be assigned the blame for this and become fair game for the superpower?

but I have a service connected disability and I am over 50 so I am no longer medically qualified for military service.

However defending the country to me is not something to take lightly.

I did not wear the uniform for that many years just to watch the nation tear it's self apart (and Bush is doing a good job of causing that, though some times I don't think we help the debate very much).

this morning...I'll say the same thing I said to him...Won't stop a damn thing...Remember there is always the next group around the corner, so what do you propose? Killing everyone? Didn't the Irish blow up Pubs and public places when they were fighting the English, (Catholics/Protestants) etc...there will always be a "group" fighting someone, unless the ROOT CAUSES ARE ADDRESSED, mainly freedom and poverty....(as the liberals have been saying all along) and the weapon of the poor and disenfranchised is terrorism, since they have no say in anything to come to compromises or treaties, and since they have no money for conventional weapons, they use what they have to fight whoever they see as the oppressor...Killing doesn't work in the long term...correcting the root causes is all that will make things right...

10. A rant like this is why we lost last November
and why we will continue to lose elections on the national scale.

Simply put until we as Democrats (and I am one) can convince the larger public that we are serious about keeping this country safe, we will continue to be out of power.

All I have heard at work this morning from my co-workers is how glad they are that Bush has been successful at protecting the nation.

Right or wrong they (and by definition a large percentage of the population) believe that Bush and by extension the GOP can keep the country safe.

Events like this mornings London bombings simply play into Bush's hand at least it the short run.

Rants like this one only make us look like we are to blame and the public is not convinced that we are.

We may be right on the argument but our way of going about it sucks.

All morning on the radio I have heard the back and forth of how this is payback for Iraq and how Blair deserves it and how Bush is at fault.

The public is not buying it even if we are technically correct.

God help this nation, we are so divided.

Keeping this country safe would not have involved an unjustified, illegal war on a country that HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH 9/11. And about which they lie and continue to lie daily. I am worried that this latest incident will cause the Dems to roll over once again and allow this criminal enterprise that is the Bush Administration to roll out Patriot Act II. NOW is the time to hold their feet to the fire. So how's the war on terrorism going anyway, Mr. Bush and Mr. Blair?? Not so good I think. The war in Iraq has simply created MORE terrorists not less. Ask the good people of Spain; they had the sense enough to knock the bastards out of office. We should have done the same.

I'm not sure if you are expressing simple militarism.

Bush is winning for some reason. I think that is a good point that you make.

Even if it is because of the 24/7 propaganda machine, there is a kernel of something that appeals to people about Bush. If you are implying a tactic that is not simply calling for aping Bush, what is it?

"If you are implying a tactic that is not simply calling for aping Bush, what is it?"

I do not think that copying the GOP play book is a practical or legitimate approach.

But I do know for a fact that the Democrats have been beaten with the weak on defense issue for the last 30 or more years (see Ronald Reagan).

We must find a creditable argument to counter it or we will keep losing elections.

I may be of a small brain and not as smart as others on this site but that is the way I see it.

No offense to anyone.

60. God help this country is right! My question is...WHO DIVIDED US?
Edited on Thu Jul-07-05 01:25 PM by fooj
IMO, this is not a rant. Truth is not a rant! Serious about keeping our country safe? Our ports are not guarded, our borders are wide open, our subways are not protected...our airport security is no better today than it was on 9-11! Homeland Security funding is being investigated...need I say more? Justification of torture? Yet, WE need to convince the public that we are interested in keeping this country safe? Bullshit!

Where does the responsibility lie? It lays at the feet of our "selected" leader who arrogantly insists that because of him, our world is a safer place. How so? Don't you think that the "ownership" should be placed on this vile administration? Why is it that THEY don't have to convince anyone of anything? ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. Empty words. Empty promises. The American people do not need to PROVE themselves. This administration hasn't answered ONE VALID QUESTION about the DSM! Apparently, they feel that they don't need to be accountable for their actions. Until we, as Americans, DEMAND accountability...they will continue to destroy (piece by piece) everything in their path.

TRUTH IS NOT A RANT! IT IS SIMPLY, TRUTH!

The terrorists are. Plain and simple.

These sort of tinfoil hat theories are exactly why we lost in 2004.

edit:

My issue is with these two lines:

And now, today, untold numbers of British civilians, whose only crime was to be living in the hellish nightmare you created, are dead as well.

When does it end, you heartless son of a bitch? How many more have to die - needlessly - before you take the fake flag of patriotism off your lapel and show all of America the bastard you truly are.

Kerry "lost" for many reasons, not the least of which was voting fraud.

1) Do you think that these attacks have ANYTHING to do with Iraq? If so, exactly WHO is responsible for the littany of lies, half-truths and hidden memos that led to the U.S. invading a country THAT NEVER ATTACKED US??

2) Are you bothered even a tad by someone who struts around the country pretending to be a patriot knowing that, when it was his turn to walk the walk he instead ran the run, not only getting Daddy to keep him out of combat but then running to Alabama when it was his turn to take a flight physical?

56. We are all to blame
The people who placed the bombs are uniquely responsible in one context. We are all responsible. It is largely irrelevent who is to blame.

Feuding hillbillies have the theory that the entirety of their problem is that that evil neighbor just shot their dog. We sophisticated people don't describe ourselves as hillbillies, because we see how stupid their feuding is.

Until we see the problem as the violence itself, until we stop ignoring the context in which someone's violence is a reaction like the reaction you feel, the cycle continues.
