George Clooney was on Pat Robertson's show last night
and Robertson was congratulating him for his Live 8 efforts.

I got to thinking that maybe things will change -- maybe people can come together for the common good.

Then I wake up this morning to the bad news.

Oh, well.

1. Clooney+Pat Robertson were on NightLine
They were both on 'Nightline' a while back. I had the video on the hard drive but I never got around to posting it.

3. You've forced me to be honest with myself
I don't think I want to "come together" with the pat robetsons or right wingnuts of the world. I want them exposed as the hypcirtes they are. Its not ok with me that "they believe what they want and I believe what I want" - they're wrong, they cause much greif in the world, they spill the blood of others with careless abandon.

I don't want to come together with them.

maybe my mind is closed, but its how I feel

6. I agree. I could NEVER "come together" with the likes of Pat
Robertson or Jerry Falwell - never turn your back on either one of them.

4. too much too little too late
Robertson is evil to the core. the only good he is interested in is his own. he knows the TV G-D-botherers are about to go down - Benny Hinn is now being investigated, and Hinn is just the most visible tip of the iceberg. Robertson's trying to neutralize himself before the whip comes down on him. mark my words.

7. Really? Hinn?
I hadn't heard.

When reprehensor moved down from Canada we didn't have cable, so he'd sit around all day watching weird stuff on network TV and tell me about it when I got home from work.

He was morbidly fascinated by Hinn. Several months ago, he found out he was Canadian too. So now he's appalled instead of just fascinated.

Hope they lock up the bastard for a LONG time for deceiving ignorant gullible people.

5. You haven't really fallen for the Live 8 scam?
Bono and Geldof are irresponsible twits, as deluded in the presence of political power as a groupie in the presence of a rock star.

What have they wrought? A legitimation of the G-8. Endorsement of the illusion that the G-8 is a friend to Africa, or at least indifferent, when in fact its corporations are the forces plundering Africa and largely responsible for its suffering.

A blessing for Blair, thus indirectly for his wars. The illusion of popular support for the latest debt scam. The poor countries get "relief" in exchange for accepting the usual IMF austerity program that will lock them forever into poverty. Until now, they would at least get a new "loan" for it.

Disgusting.
