I will say this
And you all can flame away all you want...
But if and when Bush gets a bounce in his polls for this london attack.....WELL THAT IS JUST SICK, ABSURD AND STUPID.

If anything, his polls should fall through the floor - not get a bounce. Any rational individual who can put two cognizant thoughts together would infer that Al Quaida has NOT been crippled, but that they can, in fact, attack at will. That Homeland Security, and a coordinated sharing of intelligence across the globe has not done nearly enough to stop or even warn innocents of attacks.
That our intelligence is STILL SORELY LACKING.
That the Iraq war has not led the terrorists to attack in Iraq instead of the west.
That invading and occupying an innocent nation is perhaps not a smart thing to do. It wasted precious resources that could of been used to disband Al Quaida - and now the Iraq war has mutated Al Quaida into a much more hideous and dangerous multi-faceted creature.

I never was in favor of Bush policies regarding fighting terrorism - and this sure as h*ll will NOT encourage me to fall into line.

2. No Flame from this Du'er.
No... comprehend completely. You're a brave soul, and using your intellect rather then "panicing," and falling for the terror reminder.

3. Of course
The sheeple are conditioned to very direct, surface responses. This will make them THINK ABOUT terrorism, and when they think about terrorism, their mouths start watering for Bush -- or so the reasoning goes. It's completely Pavlovian, nothing to do with sense.

9. You've got that right, Goldmund....
they've been hammering the talking points home, in tandem with terror alerts and Bush's name, so now all they have to do is say the words "terror alert" and the sheeple begin to salivate

4. No flame
Was it Al Queda? Who is reporting that? The Brits are still saying they don't know and haven't recieved any credible claims of responsibility.

6. His poll numbers will go down.
As Americans realize that not all of the terrorists are in Iraq and that we are going to have to make WAR all over the world to kill them.

7. the bush war on terra is an utter failure by design.
the priorities were laid out in pnac. the rest is the rule of unintended consequences.
they imagined that if they sent a pile of bombs and soldiers the natives would lay down and take it. oops.

8. You're exactly right. His numbers should, in all honesty, plummet
But they won't.

Too many people have become convinced over these past years that its our job as Americans to rally behind our President no matter what (unless he is a Democrat).

11. Yep. It should tell Americans
"it can happen here, too, in the blink of an eye."

Al Queda has not been crippled one bit, but empowered by bush's bogus "war on terror."

If anything, if Americans were reflective, thoughtful people, bush's numbers would fall even further.

Fear (a sort of a "hold me daddy!" attitude) MIGHT cause a slight bounce, but you know what? I kind of doubt it this time around.

People are getting more and more sick of his bullshit. And more people are seeing it for the bullshit that it is.

When I see right wingers on the internet and on TV suddenly getting more and more shrill and out of touch with reality, I know things are looking very bad for them.

12. Ok where do they have to attack before you do fall for it?
How many more innocents have to die before you are subjugated to the Criminal death cult's will?

yea that was :sarcasm:

14. No flame from me, I agree 150%
I would think this would be horrible for *'s approval. I've already fired off some Letters to newspapers about how this is the cost of NOT GOING AFTER BIN LADEN. Adventures in Iraq has diverted attention, time, money, resources, and soldiers while we ignored and allowed the Taliban to regroup all while providing al-Qaeda with a great recruiting tool. We let bin Laden walk right past us, and now we're paying the price.

If anyone thinks attacks like this in the US are far off, I'd beg to differ. It seems like it will only be a matter of time.

15. It wouldn't surprise me if they are able to spin it their way
"this is why we got to stay the course" kinda thing.

It's up to the media (oh brother!) to present the simple truth that another city was attacked and more innocent people were killed and wounded thanks to our policies and the people responsible for making them.

But maybe people are starting to wise up. We'll see.

16. WHY DOES HE GET GOOD NUMBERS ON FIGHTING TERRORISM????
in all these horrible approval rating polls of late, the one thing he still does good on is fighting terrorism.

can someone tell me WHY???????????????????????????

I just don't get it. this guy has done a horrible job of fighting terrorism. he let binladen go. the war in iraq has been a breeding ground for terrorists. the entire world now, not just a handful of radicals, hates us.

why do people think he is good at fighting terrorism?

17. But Haven't TOO Many Americans Proved They Aren't RATIONAL???
We have CORPORATE WHORES who don't give a damn! We have God seeking Evangelicals who have decided what EVERYONE else is supposed to do and think! We have ninnies who REFUSE to see TRUTH even when a BOMB falls at their feet!

All we can do is HOPE! I certainly agree with all that you've said and I too have NEVER NEVER had ANY regard for what The Idiot and his corrupt entourage have done and said. But will reality ever return to America?? Right now I'm just hoping that Germany & France won't fall into the pit!!

I did hear some GOOD news from Democracy NOW while Amy Goodman was interviewing a previous MP from England, a man named Bent. He said that this SHOULD show us just how badly things are going, and that the WAR was an awful idea. But he also went on to say that when he heard The Idiot speaking, he felt he was just saying more of the same! Of course, he's saying more of the same, he doesn't know what else to say!

AND, he didn't have a speech writer there to help him! The Idiot sounded pathetically lost and STUPID!!!

18. How is the London attack not evidence that the "war on terror" is
a complete failure?

The so called war on terror isn't working. Not in Afghanistan, not in Iraq, and not in the world.

Bush gets no vindication from this. It's actually an indictment against his policies, but it may take awhile for people to realize it.
